11th September, 2005
The HWA Arena in London, England is the apt setting for the HWA ReBirth Pay Per View, apt because the very place it started is now the same place where once more it has arrived back in full force here in 2005. The pyros go off, filling the arena with all kinds of colours and sounds. The crowd is at full capacity, 20,000+ strong when the HWA announcers Trent Brown and Keith Kincaid take their seats at ringside.
TB: Wow, simply wow is all I can say.
KK: The atmosphere in here is truly tremendous.
TB: I don't think i've ever felt anything quite like this, and the boys in the back are certainly going to be buzzing when they get this sort of reaction!
KK: It's going to be off the charts tonight folks, fasten your seat belts, we're in for a bumpy ride!
"Sweet Dreams" by Marilyn Manson hits, and Syren stands at the top of the ramp bathed in the glow of the pink and purple pyros going off around her. She places one hand on her hip and gives the crowd a smile before making her way down to ringside.
KK: A sight to behold right there. God i've missed Syren!
TB: Ron Royalty is such a lucky guy, did you see what happened last week?!
KK: I certainly did! Lucky bastard...
"Closer" by Nine Inch Nails hits, and Bigg Money makes his way down to ringside. He climbs into the ring with Syren, smiling seductively at her. He then pulls off a few muscle poses, showing off to the ringside press. Bored, Syren bounces off the ropes and takes Money down with the head scissors.
KK: Oh my, Money just landed his head in between Syren's legs!
Now on the mat, Money tries to grab at Syren, but she side steps his hand, and instead hits him with a standing 450 splash, at which the crowd stand and applaud. Syren then perches on a turnbuckle and poses seductively. The men in the crowd cheer! Her audience satisfied, Syren turns back to her opponent Bigg Money who is still lying motionless in the centre of the ring. She looks back again towards the crowd, and launches herself backward into a picture perfect moonsault.
TB: The BREAKDOWN!
KK: Syren hits a textbook Breakdown on Bigg Money!
Syren covers Money and the referee counts, 1-2-3.
TB: My God, Syren is BACK folks! She just disposed of Bigg Money in under 2 minutes!
KK: And what eye candy too! Wait a sec, let me see if I can get her number...
TB: Easy Keith! You've got a show to call!!
KK: Ah well, yeah, but.... awww ok.
We're backstage, and Jim Otis is with David Jackson.
JO: Mr Jackson, many people are speculating right now as to who is really in charge of the HWA, yourself or Ron Royalty. How do you address that speculation?
DJ: Speculation you say? Interesting, see it's very clear in my mind. Jim, is that your name, Jim?
JO: Yes sir, Jim Otis.
DJ: Ok then Jim, well let me ask you a question. Who did the HWA board of directors bring in when Ron Royalty went missing?
JO: You.
DJ: Do you think i'd take this job without being granted full power?
JO: I'd guess not.
DJ: And you'd guess correctly.
JO: But what about Ron Royalty? Where does he fit in now?
Just at that moment, Ron Royalty interupts the interview, pushing Jim Otis aside, and goes straight for David Jackson. He doesn't, however, lay a finger on Jackson, but instead walks really close to him. The two men eyeball each other. Jim Otis scuffles over to one side and continues.
JO: So as you see folks, nothing really answered here right now. I'll hope to give you an update on the whole Royalty/Jackson situation as soon as possible.
"Point of No Return" by Immortal Technique hits and Nate Hartman makes his return to the HWA. He gets a big cheer, and slaps the hands of his fans as he makes his way down to the ring.
TB: Good to see Hartman back in the HWA, Keith.
KK: Certainly is Trent. This must be, what, his 5th or 6th return match now?!
TB: I think he has a lot of other projects in place, but that HWA is like a home to him. Either way, he's always welcome in the HWA. Tonight of course he takes on the veteran Dylan Wolfe.
"Reconnect" by Sevendust hits and Dylan Wolfe appears at the top of the ramp wearing his Irish colours with pride. He gets largely boos as he walks down to the ring, pausing only to flip off a couple of fans who are trying to wave an American flag in his face.
TB: Nice to see Dylan Wolfe hasn't lost his charm!
KK: Well, to be fair, we ARE in England, a place which leaves a lot to be desired!
TB: Keith! You want to watch your mouth, otherwise your boss, the VERY English Ron Royalty will fire your ass!
KK: Ha, have you been even remotely following whats being happening in the HWA? The REAL boss around here is David Jackson! Ron Royalty is merely his underling!
TB: Thats your theory Keith and you're entitled to it. In the meantime we've got a match going on here!
Dylan Wolfe goes to work on Nate Hartman, landing some big rights and lefts on the slightly smaller man. Nate fights back though and immediately tries to hit the phenomenon.
TB: Holy shit! Hartman tries his finisher, only a couple of minutes into the match!
Dylan manages to kick out. Hartman grabs Dylan and with one arm raised aloft, he plants Wolfe with a DDT.
KK: This isn't the Dylan Wolfe we're using to seeing Trent.
TB: No, I don't know whether he's out of shape, or something, but he's not 100% thats for sure.
Hartman poses for the fans for a few moments further, then he hits Wolfe with the Paste Maker (Vertebreaker). Wolfe is down. Hartman hits the Phenomenon one more time and it's over.
TB: Wow, Nate Hartman picks up a surprisingly easy victory over Dylan Wolfe.
"Remedy" by Cold hits and the iconic Sett hits the ring to endless cheers from his loyal fan base. He grabs a mike.
Sett: Turns out that Zack Maxem is too much of a pussy to fight me here today.
The crowd boo
Sett: Yeah thats right. Still, I can't blame the guy, I wouldn't want to get in the ring with me either. So in the absence of Zack Maxem, is there ANYbody in this arena who wants to challenge me?
Purple Haze hits, prompting an instant booing from the crowds. David Jackson appears at the top of the ramp with his usual entourage. He has a mike.
DJ: Mr Sett. How nice it is to see you looking so well! I have a proposition for you. How about, you join my group of wrestlers? You'd fit right in, you could be, lets see, my enforcer! How about it?
Sett: Jackson, why the HELL would I want to do that?! All I see you with is a bunch of nobodies! Still, it's true what they say, the people you keep company with are a reflection of yourself!
Seething, Jackson manages to restrain himself. He composes himself once more.
DJ: Well in that case you leave me with no option.
Jackson disappears backstage, and the lights dim. Barry White starts playing over the HWA sound system.
TB: Oh my, please tell me it's not....
KK: Oh Lord have mercy.....
Fat Larry White (Barry White's infamous nephew) comes rolling down to ringside in his invalidity mobile (complete with purple police-style revolving light on the roof). The cart moves at about 2mph, but affords the 380lb Larry a rest before beginning the match.
TB: My God, I bet Sett never saw THIS coming!
KK: So does this mean Larry White has joined David Jackson's law and order?
Larry's cart approaches the ring after a further couple of minutes. Larry struggles out of the vehicle and wheezes as he gets to the steps. Sett leans back against the ropes, giving Larry a chance to get in. Eventually he does and the bell rings.
Larry White locks up with Sett. Sett gets the better of the exchange and White is soon gasping for air, hands on hips. Sett clothesline White down and drops an elbow onto his chest. White is already exhausted, and Sett goes for the cover. 1-2- shoulder up.
TB: Larry White raised his shoulder by around half an inch there, to escape the pin.
Sett gets pissed at White and starts dropping elbow after elbow. Larry is busted open. Sett goes for the pin, 1-2- shoulder up.
KK: Sett can't believe whats happening here! I don't think any of us can, frankly. White seems unable to get back up off the mat, and yet each time Sett goes for the pin, he just seems to almost shrug his huge shoulders, and it's enough to break the pin!
TB: A most unusual tactic I must say. Sett is getting extremely angry. He has some history with Fat Larry, and this course of action will certainly not please him.
Frustrated with his efforts thus far, Sett tries an alternative strategy - he tries to stand Larry up.
KK: A 300lb man trying to pick up a 380lb man. Thats not something you see very often.
Larry fights Sett's attempts, and gives Sett a bloody nose in the process. Sett then attempts to choke White. He is distracted though by a returning Jackson, who attempts to free White from Sett's choke. A HUGE cheer lifts the roof off the HWA arena though when Ron Royalty charges down to ringside, Royalty takes down Jackson with a spear and the two men collapse to the outside, fighting tooth and nail.
Sett's choke hold lasts, and White finally taps out collapsing in a heap.
TB: Thank God for that! Sett wins! He gets a shot at the international Title at a time of his choosing.
Sett raises his fists in a victory stance, while White is stretchered out on two stretchers to deal with his extra width. Royalty and Jackson fight their way through the crowd to the backstage areas.
Erin Wallce is brought out to ringside by HWA head referee Wallace Cunningham. She has her hands clasped behing her back with some sort of tie. Accompanying Erin are two of Jackson's masked henchmen.
TB: The poor Erin Wallace being brought down to ringside there. Lets hope Conner can do her a real big favour and free her from the torture that Jackson's group have subjected her to.
KK: Oh come on Trent, you don't really think they raped her? Even Dexil Midnight wouldn't go that far.
TB: I don't know Keith, i'm not sure. What I DO know though is that this match is also Kevin Conner's first defense of the International Title.
Dexil Midnight makes his way down to ringside to some generic ganster rap music. The crowd really get on his back, several 'rapist' chants are heard, along with 'Dexil sucks'.
TB: I'm glad to hear those chants, Dexil certainly deserves it.
KK: Allegedly.
Kevin Conner comes down to the ring to the sounds of "Not listening" by Papa Roach. He gets a HUGE ovation. He leaps over the top rope, throws off his vest and immediately launches a flurry of attacks on the seemingly ill-prepared Dexil Midnight. Conner goes all out, saving nothing for his future matches in the evening.
TB: This isn't a wrestling match, this is a fight Keith.
KK: No kidding, OUCH, thats gotta hurt.
After several punch/kick combinations, Conner landed a huge head butt on Dexil. Dexil staggers around for a second, before Conner hits him with a text book drop kick. Dexil goes down like a sack of potatoes. Conner leaps and lands on the top of a turnbuckle, before performing the Leap Of Faith (Rotating 5 Star Frog Splash) which lands on Dexil, practically dicing the rapper into two!
TB: Oh my God, did you SEE That?!
The crowd start a holy shit chant.
KK: But look, Conner isn't finished. Hell, I doubt he's even started, he's out for retribution.
TB: You've changed your tune Keith!
KK: Ah well, maybe, er, whatever!
Conner is again back on the top turnbuckle. This time he hits the Soul Searcher (Downward Spiral), again, driving Dexil into the mat with serious force. Conner follows this up with the Celtic Call. This finishes off Dexil. Conner gets the pin 1-2-3.
TB: Another easy match here, Conner finishing off Dexil Midnight with comparative ease.
Not waiting for the official announcement, Conner hops out of the ring, and straight over to Erin Wallace. Erin is released of her bindings by the two henchmen and she wraps her arms around Conner. Conner embraces Erin, but suddenly the two of them are pushed over. They collapse into the announce table. Blue Thunder and Ryan Maxem are stood over them.
KK: What the hell?
TB: I guess Thunder and Maxem are eliminating the competition for the main event later.
Thunder and Maxem start putting the boots to Conner, Conner is down a heap, blood spouting from his mouth. Devious to the end, Jackson arrives and starts to join in. Erin stands to one side, hand over mouth. Sensing an idea, she runs to the back.
TB: Where did she go?
KK: Beats me. She didn't even TRY to help.
She returns a minute later.
TB: Oh my God, she brought out the cavalry!
KK: Danny Starr and Michael Diamond!
TB: I guess that brings the numbers game to a more even stand point!
KK: No, wait, Dexil Midnight is back out now.
TB: And here comes Syren with Nate Hartman.
All of them are going at it in the ring, when Wallace Cunningham indicates to the time keeper to ring the bell. The bell sounds and Cuningham enters the ring.
KK: Whats happening?
TB: Keith, I think the battle royal for the race for the title has just started!
KK: So let me get this right Trent, the Race For The Title is still on?
TB: It would seem so Keith. For those at home that haven't been keeping up, the race for the title works like this. The first two wrestlers to amass 20 points (which can be won by winning certain R.F.T.T matches) face each other in a one on one match to determine who becomes the HWA World Heavyweight Champion. So far, the three wrestlers that got the nearest to this were Percy Peterson, Mental Mark and Jason Craven. Now unfortunately, none of those men are with the company at this time, so the competition is wide open once again. The winner of THIS match, the battle royal will get TEN POINTS towards their total!
KK: Well that would basically give anybody a huge advantage!
TB: Thats quite right Keith. This is probably the only decision made by David Jackson in the past two months that i've actually agreed with! ANYBODY can win a battle royal, and therefore anybody could get the shot!
KK: I understand there are TWO lots of points up for grabs, is that correct?
TB: Correct once again Keith. Basically, the last two people in the ring will get the 10 points each, though i suspect that they'll still fight it out anyway.
KK: Excellent! So really, the two winners here will pretty much be the favourites to become the next HWA Champion!
TB: Got it in one Keith.
KK: We've got Blue Thunder, Ryan Maxem, Syren, Nate Hartman, Danny Starr, Kevin Conner, Sett, and Michael Diamond. Certainly will be interesting to see what happens here.
The fight has continued in the ring. The combined powers of Diamond, Starr & Conner eliminated the inital aggressors Maxem and Thunder early on. Now it seems to have gone back to being every man (and woman!) for themselves.
TB: Interesting to see that Thunder and Maxem got eliminated early on.
KK: Well I suppose it was they who were causing the trouble, and with all of the remaining guys in the ring being opponents of Jackson's group, they were out numbered.
Nate Hartman is eliminated next curtesy of a Michael Diamond forearm over the top rope. In one corner, Sett approaches Kevin Conner.
KK: THIS will be interesting - Sett is in line for a shot at Conner's belt after winning his match against Fat Larry White, and Conner has just been beaten up by Jackson's thugs. Easy pickings maybe?
Sett tries to eliminate Conner over the top, but Conner wriggles out. On the other side of the ring stand Michael Diamond, Syren and Danny Starr. None of them seem to want to go near each other. They walk around each other, nobody wanting to be the first aggressor. Eventually Syren snaps. She charges at Danny Starr, but misses. Starr and Syren both laugh at the attempt, but Michael Diamond sees the opportunity and grabs Syren. Again, she gets out of the attempt, and they are back to square one.
Back on the other side of the ring, Sett and Conner are still squaring off. Conner escapes once more and backs up in the ring - into Syren. Syren hits the Breakdown on Conner, and Conner goes to the ground. Diamond and Starr look at each other, then at Sett. They realise that this could possibly be the only time in the match where they can dispose of the big man, Sett.
They run together and Sett is taken over the top rope by the double clothesline. Annoyed, Sett slaps both hands down on the ring apron in digust, before making his way to the back. Back in the centre of the ring, Syren is taking a breather, whilst Conner is trying to get back to his feet. Danny Starr walks across and offers him a hand up. Conner looks up and directly at Starr.
TB: Should Conner trust Starr Keith?
KK: This could answer all of our questions about Danny Starr right here.
Conner looks out into the crowd, but still unsure of Starr, he instead makes his own way up back to his feet. The four remaining wrestlers, Starr, Diamond, Syren and Conner all take one corner each.
TB: Down to the final four. This match is anyone's right now.
They split off into two pairs, Conner v Diamond, and Syren v Starr. Conner and Diamond is particularly fierce, both very proud men, neither want to give anything away. Starr manages to knock down Syren, and walks to the other side of the ring. He crouches.
KK: Starr is going to not only clothesline Syren out of the ring, but possibly out of the arena! She is less than HALF his weight, and he's going to have some serious momentum here.
Starr springs across the ring, he extends the arm and......
TB: Oh my God.....
KK: Starr just eliminated Diamond!
Michael Diamond and Kevin Conner had unintentionally strayed into the path Starr was taking in an attempt to eliminate Syren! The crowd are quiet, down to a stunned murmour.
TB: What did we just see there? Did Starr have this planned all along?
KK: No, he can't have done. That was a mistake, surely? Wasn't it? Diamond's, like, his oldest friend or something. Isn't he?
Starr looks over to Diamond, he holds his arms out in an apologetic manner but within a second, Conner launches himself at Starr. He catches Starr mid air with his legs. Conner is now hanging in mid air over the side of the ring, connected only by his legs which are wrapped around Starr. Starr is desperately trying to find something to hang onto, but he is gradually tipping over the rope. Meanwhile back in the ring, Syren has seen what is happening. She goes across to Starr and Conner, and then gives Starr a helping hand over the top rope! Starr falls to the floor a split second after Conner, who lands headfirst onto the mat.
TB: Syren wins the battle royal! But who was second? Who else gets the points?
KK: I think it must've been Danny Starr, as Conner was certainly nearest the ground when the two of them fell. Yeah, I'm sure it's Starr.
Sure enough to ring announcer annouces that Starr came second, Syren won, but both will get 10 points in the race for the title competition.
TB: Well I wouldn't want to be ANY of those guys right now, as we've got the main event coming right up, featuring pretty much the same folks we just saw! They've got to be aching all over right now.
TB: Are you ready for the main event, Keith?
KK: If I say "no", does that mean that we'll end the show early?
TB: Um... no.
KK: Damn.
The HWATron fizzles to life as we see an image of Michael Diamond stretching in the hallway, dressed in his second set of wrestling attire and ready to go once more. Upon seeing the image of "Your Hero", the fans scream and cheer - a small "Diamond" chant rising from various patches in the crowd.
TB: And there he is Keith, the man that's been out of action for a long-long time. He made his in-ring return tonight here, at ReBirth!
Michael Diamond pours some water on his hair and face, slaps his face a little bit to get into the zone once more, and then proceeds down the long hallway. Diamond turns a corner and comes to a halt as the camera pans over and we see an image of David Jackson standing before "Your Hero", a smile on his face. Michael Diamond seems perplexed as to why Jackson is smiling as Diamond looks behind him and then looks back at Jackson.
Michael Diamond: Well this is... unexpected. I mean, the all-mighty powerful David Jackson standing before "Your Hero"... alone? Don't tell me your little bitch-squad of Dexil, Maxem, and Thunder ditched ya.
Jackson scowled at Diamond as Diamond flashed his million-dollar smile.
David Jackson: You know something, Diamond? I'm a lot more powerful then you realize, for instance...
Jackson reaches into his pants pocket and produces a piece of paper, an HWA contract to be exact.
David Jackson: ... you see this? This... is your HWA contract.
Michael Diamond: Actually, that's your hotel cable bill. And if I were you, I wouldn't be flaunting that around to people. They might get the wrong impression, especially with the amount of gay porn you had charged to your room.
David Jackson: What!?
The fans started laughing as Jackson turned the paper over, realizing that it was, indeed, Michael Diamond's contract. Realizing Diamond had taken him for a fool, Jackson glared back at Diamond as Diamond simply flashed that million-dollar smile.
David Jackson: Very funny, Mr. Diamond... but the games stop here!
Jackson snapped his fingers as a group of security officials and personnel arrived on the scene, flanking Michael Diamond's position. Michael tensed up, preparing himself for a fight as the fans booed their disgust at the current happenings.
Man's Voice: What the hell is going on here!?
The camera pans over as we see Ron Royalty appear on the scene, the fans cheering for the arrival of the HWA owner.
David Jackson: Ah Ron, you're just in time.
Ron Royalty: In time for what!?
David Jackson: Why, for the firing of "Your Hero" Michael Diamond!
And with that being said, Jackson ripped the piece of paper in two... letting the shards of Michael Diamond's dream float ever so slowly to the ground.
TB: What!? He can't do that! Diamond signed a contract under Royalty! Jackson has no authority over that!
David Jackson: Gentlemen, I do believe Mr. Diamond is trespassing on HWA properity...
Diamond didn't wait for Jackson to finish as he lunged at the HWA president but the security guards were quicker, cutting Michael off and forcing "Your Hero" up against the wall. Jackson let out a laugh as the security officials began to handcuff Diamond's hands behind his back.
Michael Diamond: Ron, what the fuck!? Do something! I've got a fuckin' match next!
Royalty only lowered his head as Jackson let out another laugh.
David Jackson: Oh don't worry about your big match, Michael - I've already decided that it'll be a 2-on-3 affair. I'm sure Mr. Royalty here doesn't mind, do you Ron?
Royalty kept his head down as the security officials pulled Michael off the wall, his hands bound behind his back and a security guard holding firmly onto "Your Hero". Michael's eyes darted from Royalty to Jackson, completely dumbfounded as to what it was that transpiring.
David Jackson: You really should've done your homework, Michael. I mean, did you really think that I'd go to all that trouble in "acquiring" Ron Royalty only to simply let him go a couple weeks later? That's not the type of business man that I am Mr. Diamond. You see, Ron Royalty had something I needed. And after a little persuading, Ron and I were able to come to terms. You know, it's funny how much these idiotic fans and even superstars, like you, put your faith in Mr. Royalty. It's like, you put him up on this pedestal - an icon never to be touched - the ageless keeper of the HWA! But really, Ron is just like everyone else - always looking out for himself.
Diamond glared over at Royalty, feeling betrayed as Ron kept his gaze to the floor. Jackson had an ear-to-ear grin now, his hand going over Ron's shoulder as he pulled Royalty close to him, like the two were now best friends.
David Jackson: That's right Michael, Royalty sold you out; Royalty sold the HWA out! You see, in exchange for his freedom, Ron agreed to sign over complete and utter control of the HWA to... me!
Jackson let out a hideous laugh as Royalty pulled away from him, disgraced at what he had done. Diamond was livid, fighting against his captors but unable to gain any success.
Michael Diamond: This isn't over, Jackson!
David Jackson: Oh, but it is. Security, remove these two pathetic creatures from my building!
The security officials escorted Diamond and Royalty down the hall and out of sight as Jackson continued to laugh to himself.
TB: Oh... my... God. Jackson has 100% control of the HWA!
KK: We... are so... fucked.
TB: Ladies and Gentlemen, I am truly shocked. I'm shocked at David Jackson, as I thought even HE wouldn't stoop that low, but i'm also disappointed at the resolve on Ron Royalty.
KK: Trent, the guy had no choice, who knows what Jackson had planned for him.
TB: Even still, I thought Ron Royalty was HWA through and through.
Dexil Midnight, bruised and battered from earlier, comes down to ringside along with Ryan Maxem and Blue Thunder. David Jackson, grinning from ear to ear is in tow. Then, to the sounds of "Not Listening" By Papa Roach, Danny Starr and Kevin Conner appear at the top of the rampway. The crowd, angry about what happened to Diamond, give the two remaining 'good guys' an extra big roar of approval. They make it to the ring and the bell rings.
The match begins with Ryan Maxem squaring off with Kevin Conner. Conner quickly catches an edge over Maxem and it's not long before Conner has Maxem cornered. Unfortunately, Dexil Midnight, keen for revenge, enters the ring and takes Conner down. Starr reaches for the tag, but Conner is miles away. Danny agonises with the decision, then enters the ring, attempting to reach Conner. Unfortunately, he is blocked off by the huge Blue Thunder.
TB: Man, that is one guy you really don't want to mess with.
Thunder man handles Starr to the ground. Conner is still being taught a lesson by Maxem and Dexil.
KK: This is just too much, there's no way even Conner and Starr can handle these three men by themselves.
Starr breaks free from Thunder, and rushes to help Conner, but he is brought down by the combined power of Blue Thunder, and then also David Jackson too.
"Remedy" by Cold hits, and Sett comes powering down the ramp much to the crowds delight. He quickly enters the ring, and immediately tosses Dexil Midnight out of the ring. He then approaches Thunder and Jackson. Jackson starts to beg. Sett is unforgiving, and Jackson is sent the same was a Dexil.
TB: Who'd have thought it, Sett being a real difference maker here.
KK: He should keep his nose out of this, it's business that doesn't concern him.
Sett reaches Blue Thunder, and the two big men square up. Sett grabs a hold of Thunder, but Maxem hits the back of Sett's knee with a pipe, and the he is forced to release Thunder. Conner and Starr move to take out Maxem, but Maxem has thrown the pipe to Thunder. Sett looks around just in time to see Thunder connecting the pipe with his head.
TB: Oh my God, Sett just got a level 1 concussion right there.
Sett collapses to the ground. Whilst Conner and Starr are chasing Maxem, Dexil re-enters the ring. He holds down Sett, and motions for Blue Thunder to ascend the turnbuckle.
TB: This just got a whole lot worse folks. When you get a man the size of Blue Thunder on the top turnbuckle, you know things aren't gonna be pretty.
Sure enough, Blue Thunder jumps off the turnbuckle, and lands, feet first, on the out stretched arm of Sett.
KK: OH MY FUCKING GOD!
TB: Sett's arm, FUCK!
KK: Sett's arm just got broken into a million pieces!
Sure enough, Sett's arm is not pointing in the correct direction, not even slightly. Sett clutches his arm, and the referee summons the stretcher bearers from the back.
While all of this is going on, Maxem has been given a sound beating from Conner and Starr, and after several further minutes, the fight returns to the ring. It is now back to Dexil, Maxem and Thunder versus Conner and Starr. Conner looks at Starr, and they both nod to each other.
KK: What are we about to see here? Looks like some kind of pre-orchestrated plan...
Sure enough, Conner leaps to one turnbuckle, and Starr the opposite. Not knowing what is about to happen, their three opponents gather in the midway point. Both Conner and Starr raise their hands and then leap, Starr goes low, Conner goes high. Between them they take Maxem Dexil and Thunder all to the ground in a heap. Jackson looks on mortified from the outside.
TB: Holy SHIT what a fucking MOVE!
Conner and Starr share a high five, and then Conner picks up Dexil. He hits the Celtic Call and the crowd go crazy. Starr picks up Maxem, and hits the Obliteration. Conner then turns his attention to Blue Thunder.
KK: Conner Driver!
TB: Conner and Starr are having their way with all Jackson's entire crew!
Jackson himself gets into the ring, and just as quickly, Starr grabs him.
TB: Halls of Sensation!
KK: Wait, look! Celtic Call once more - AGAIN on Dexil Midnight!!
Conner hits the move perfectly and goes for the pin, Starr still restraining Jackson on the opposite side of the ring. 1-2-3!
TB: YES, YES, YES! THEY'VE DONE IT!
KK: I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!
TB: Despite all the odds they've managed to do it!
But then, Jackson's security team hits the ring and quickly, Conner and Starr are overcome. This time they're too tired to play the numbers game.
TB: Oh God, this is shocking.
KK: WAIT LOOK!!!!!
Coming back through the crowd, is none other than Michale Diamond.
TB: YES! DIAMOND IS BACK!
Diamond wastes no time in getting back into the ring and helping out his buddies.
After a couple of minutes, Thunder, Maxem and Dexil are back in the frame too.
TB: What a chaotic way to finish an incredible night, and an incredible first pay per view back for the HWA!
KK: I hate to agree with you.. but that's undeniable!
In the ring Midnight and Conner are still going at it, Conner has gained an advantage and has Midnight backed up in the corner. Meanwhile, Diamond and Thunder are brawling in the opposite corner, Thunder has Diamond down to a knee as he continues to attack.
TB: The match may be over, but the war damn sure isn't!
Outside the ring, both Starr and Maxem are down but coming to. As the two reach their feet they both glare at each other before charging in. Starr spears Maxem to the floor and begins to unload some heavy lefts and rights, Maxem blocks what he can before rolling over and switching from defense to offense by attacking Starr with some heavy rights of his own.
KK: Maxem, Starr - No match, no rules. This is going to get ugly!
Back inside the right Diamond has reversed the momentum and has Thunder on the mat while Diamond kicks him in the face and body. Conner still has the advantage over Midnight, until Midnight drops to his knees and uppercuts Conner between the legs, sending Conner crashing to the ring mat in agony.
TB: VICIOUS low blow by Midnight there, he'll feel that one in the morning.
KK: Thank you Captain Obvious...
Starr and Maxem both up on the outside begin to take their fight around the ring, as Maxem whips Starr into the barriers. Maxem charges Starr who ducks down and elevates Maxem over the top of the barrier and into the crowd. Starr reaches over the barrier and grabs Maxem by the head, suplexing him back onto the mats.
TB: The slap of those mats on Maxems body is sickening to me.
KK: That's because your like a girl.
Seeing Conner down, Diamond lets up on his attack of Thunder and grabs Midnight. As Diamond lifts Midnight to his feet, Midnight pushes Diamond back right into Thunder who delivers a hellacious clothesline.
KK: Ouch.. Thunder made it to his feet just in time to take Diamonds head off!
Thunder reaches down and lifts Diamond to his feet, Diamond stumbles back into the ring ropes, as he does his arms become tangled in the ropes, leaving Diamond vulnerable to anything and both Midnight and Thunder able to do as they please with Diamond.
TB: Things are fixing to get VERY ugly now, Diamond cant fight back!
KK: But look. They don't care about Diamond, they are going right after Conner!
As Midnight and Thunder lift Conner to his feet Conner tries to fight both men but he cant. Thunder nails a big right boot to Conners sternum just as Midnight nails a big right hand to the head. Conner stumbles back and both Midnight and Thunder tie him up in the ropes, opposite Diamond.
a TB: Oh no.. Conner and Diamond both helpless now!
KK: Think of the bigger picture. Danny Starr is now in a potential 3 on 1 situation...
Outside the ring Starr doesn't notice what's happened in the ring as he has his back to it at the foot of the ramp brawling with Maxem. With Starr not looking, both Thunder and Midnight climb from the ring and help their partner to gain the advantage and tear Starr apart.
TB: Three on One! This is cowardly! Cant Maxem do it alone?!
The Lights Cut out.
KK: What the hell?
TB: What's going on? Technical Difficulties? Power Cut?
KK: Mommy?
Some music begins to play over the P.A System...
"Catch me as I fall
Say you're here and it's all over now
Speaking to the atmosphere
No one's here and I fall into myself
This truth drives me
Into madness
I know I can stop the pain
If I will it all away"
Cameras are flashing like crazy, trying to cause enough light to see what's going on inside, and outside the ring.
"Don't turn away
(Don't give in to the pain)
Don't try to hide
(Though they're screaming your name)
Don't close your eyes
(God knows what lies behind them)
Don't turn out the light
(Never sleep never die)"
As the lights flicker there is definitely something going on by the ring.
TB: There is somebody standing on our table.
KK: I think he spilt my coffee!
"I'm frightened by what I see
But somehow I know
That there's much more to come
Immobilized by my fear
And soon to be
Blinded by tears
I can stop the pain
If I will it all away"
The music cuts. The lights come back. Diamond and Conner are both looking
towards the man standing on the announce table, he's in wrestling gear, his
head is down and his face cant be seen because his hair is hanging over.
TB: Even the fight on the outside has stopped, Starr is down, but Midnight, Thunder and Maxem are all looking at the man. Who the hell is it?
KK: He's on our table and I still cant see, his ass is in the way from here!
As the fans are silent, all eyes on the man, he raises his head.
TB: OH MY GOD!
KK: WHAT THE HELL!
TB: ITS FUDGE!
The fans explode as they see who it is, Fudge jumps from the table and slides into the ring. Fudge sprints toward the ropes and leaps up springing from the top ropes, he extends his body and comes crashing down on Midnight, Maxem and Thunder who all crumble from the impact.
TB: The fans are going crazy here!
Fudge nails some rights on Midnight as he stays down on his knees, he turns and unloads some rights on Thunder, before turning his attention to Maxem and nailing some vicious rights to Maxem. Starr looks up at Fudge and begins to get to his feet. As Starr perhaps looks for a hand getting to his feet Fudge stops his assault on the three, and stands up. Fudge slides into the ring and unties Conner from the ropes.
KK: Looks like he's evening the odds
TB: He's done more than even the odds, but look now, Conner has gone to help Starr with Midnight, Thunder and Maxem. Fudge and Diamond have locked eyes, its been a long time...
Fudge walks toward Diamond and releases him from the ropes, Fudge then takes a step back, as he does Diamond looks at the chaos outside the ring, Diamond glances at Fudge before going out to help Conner and Starr. Conner, Diamond and Starr manage to back Midnight, Thunder and Maxem up enough so that they leave the area, startled by whats just happened.
TB: Maybe they realised 4 vs 3, with one fresh man on the larger team really isnt a smart choice!
Conner, Diamond and Starr turn to face Fudge whose standing in the ring looking down to them. The three slide into the ring and as they do Fudge backs up against the ropes. Conner, Diamond and Starr step to the middle of the ring to meet Fudge, but Fudge climbs through the middle ropes and onto the apron looking out to the crowd, before jumping from the apron.
KK: Whats Fudge doing?
TB: I have no idea...
Fudge walks to the ringside barrier and jumps over it and begins to walk through the crowd, without looking back. Conner, Diamond and Starr are all standing in the ring with a look of absolute confusion all over their face as Fudge leaves their sight.
TB: I can't believe it! Fudge is back! At least, I think he is.
KK: I... have no idea... what's going on.
Conner, Diamond, and Starr all seem to share the same sentiment as they turn their attention back to each other. Their gaze then goes up to the top of the ramp as David Jackson steps out, a look of sheer hate in his eyes. Jackson glares intently at Michael Diamond as he raises a mic up to his lips.
David Jackson: I warned you, Diamond! You stuck your nose in my business for the last time! Security!
The fans boo as security officials begin to pile out from behind Jackson and walk down the rampway.
David Jackson: Arrest that son-of-a-bitch!
Both Kevin Conner and Danny Starr take up defensive stances, ready to fight off the armed guards for their friend and ally. Michael, on the other hand, simply smiles at the challenge as he walks over to the ropes and requests a mic. A nervous stage hand quickly runs up and gives Diamond what is it that he asked for as Diamond turns around and faces the approaching reinforcements.
Michael Diamond: Hold on just one damn second, Jackson!
As if Diamond held some sort of power over the guards, they stopped half-way down the rampway.
Michael Diamond: I have to give credit where credit is due and David, quite frankly, you sunk my battleship.
KK: What the hell is Diamond talking about?
TB: Either he's speaking in metaphoric terms or he's talking about the popular board game from back...
KK: Trent, shut up.
Michael Diamond: You pulled a quick one on me David and as a result, "Your Hero" is no more in the HWA.
The fans boo as Conner and Danny turn around to look back at Michael.
Michael Diamond: So you want me gone, Jackson?
Jackson nods his head in response as the fans start up a "Diamond" chant, hoping that they could somehow coax the HWA president into keeping Michael around. But such a scenario was highly unlikely.
Michael Diamond: Then I'm gone.
The fans boo as a smirk comes across Jackson's face.
Michael Diamond: Whoa, whoa, whoa! Before you go getting all giddy on me... just remember that this is far from over. Even if "Your Hero" is no longer in the equation, the HWA will still fight on. And in this game Jackson, the house ALWAYS wins! As for me... well, if this is to be the last time the fans are going to see the likes of yours truly then I'm damn-sure going to go out in a fashion that will forever be remembered in HWA history!
Diamond tosses the mic aside and gets straight up in Conner's face. Years of bitter rivalry and respect have lead to this moment as Diamond and Conner begin exchanging heated words. Finally, as if the storm had reached a quiet calm, Diamond backs away from Conner and extends his hand to the HWA superstar. Conner's eyes drift down to Michael's hand, unsure if he could trust someone like Michael Diamond - especially after all the times he'd been backstabbed by the FoS. Remembering the hated faction, Conner shot a glare over at Starr to see that Danny had not moved from his spot. The crowd grew quiet in anticipation as Conner turned back to Michael Diamond. Sucking in his pride, Conner nodded his head as he gripped Michael Diamond's hand within his. The fans cheered their approval as David Jackson appeared disgusted by the whole exchange of respect between the two HWA superstars.
TB: We're witnessing history in the making ladies and gentlemen! Not only is this Michael Diamond's last hurrah but he's going out only the way a Hero could, on his terms.
Diamond and Conner broke free of their respectful embrace as Michael turned his eyes to Danny. Danny stepped forward, as if he wanted to say something to Michael but Michael shook his head, letting Danny know there was nothing for them to be said. Conner backed away as the two men stared into each other's eyes.
TB: A LOT of history between these two men.
KK: That's an understatement Trent, these two guys are like brothers.
An intense staring contest occurred between the two men, neither having spoken a word to the other in well over three years. Yet no words needed to be said, both men caught up in the moment. Finally, Michael Diamond lifted his shaking hand to Danny Starr. Starr looked down at Michael's hand, contemplating hard on the decision placed before him. Danny looked to the crowd, seeking their approval as they cheered him on - egging for him to take Michael's hand within his own. Starr looked back to Michael, shaking his head as if refusing to shake Michael's hand. Michael appeared shocked by this as the crowd began to boo. Starr quickly slapped Michael's hand away as he grabbed Michael and pulled him into his body, hugging "Your Hero" tightly to his chest. The fans rose up out of their seats and cheered as Michael seemed taken back by Danny's gesture.
TB: What a truly remarkable moment in history this is!
KK: Is that a tear in your eye, Trent?
TB: Allergies.
KK: Riiiiight.
Danny pulled away from Michael as he looked at "Your Hero" with a smile. Michael smiled back at Danny... and then kicked him in the gut. Danny doubled-over as Michael pulled Danny's head into a precarious position.
TB: What the hell!? What's Michael Diamond doing!?
KK: Looks like the Diamond Cutter to me, Trent!
Before anyone, including Danny, knew what was happening, Michael twisted Danny around and planted him face-first into the mat with the Twist of Fate.
TB: Oh my God! Oh my God! Diamond Cutter! Diamond Cutter! Michael Diamond just hit the Diamond Cutter on Danny Starr!
KK: I don't believe it! Michael Diamond just planted his best friend - his brother, even - into the mat!
TB: What the hell is going on!?
Conner stood back in shock, much like the rest of the arena, as Diamond pushed himself up to his feet. All was silent as everyone looked on in disbelief, unable to comprehend what it was that had just happened. Diamond glared down at Danny Starr as "The Sensation" lay motionless on the mat. Diamond cast a look over at Conner as Conner shook his head, mouthing the words "what have you done?". Diamond simply shrugged his shoulders and rolled out of the ring as he walked past the security guards and up the rampway. Conner dropped to his knees to check on Starr who was out-cold.
TB: I... I... I don't know what to say! I can't believe this! Michael Diamond just left Danny Starr laying in the middle of the ring! Is this what he meant by leaving a lasting impression in the HWA!? Could this be how Michael Diamond wanted his career to end - by turning on his best friend!?
Diamond walked up to the stage and cast a glare over in David Jackson's direction as David, too, appeared shocked at what had just transpired. Diamond lifted his middle finger to Jackson and then walked through the curtains, disappearing into the back area as his entourage of security members followed closely behind.
TB: I... I'm speechless! I just... I can't believe Diamond did that! What is going on here!?
The PPV ends with a shot of Danny laying face-first in the mat as Conner tends to his fallen partner, meanwhile Jackson looks on from the stage area, an approving smile on his face.
