26th February 2006
Buffalo, New York
OOC: This pay per view is very appropriately named. I have an incredible amount of pride in presenting this Pay Per View to you all. You all worked your assess off with roleplays this week, and some of you have worked incredibly hard writing matches for this PPV too. I truly believe that this PPV is by far the greatest since we reopened last year, the final two matches being up there amongst the greatest matches in HWA history. WE'RE BACK!!! Bravo to you all, now crack open a beer, sit back and enjoy the read. Ladies and Gentlemen I give you HWA Pride:2006 - Neil
The show begins with the PPV logo which disolves away to show the packed out Arena. The crowd go wild as the pyros fire off, and the camera zooms in to show the two rings that have been set up tonight. The first, standard ring, and the second is the special New Generation ring with all of the various contraptions for the main event match later tonight. The camera zooms into the first ring a little more and we can see that there is already a match underway - Kevin Hurts is kicking the living hell out of Dylan Wolfe. Within merely a matter of seconds Hurts hits The Freak Out (Powerbomb setup to rollover piledriver) and gets the easy win 1-2-3.
RR: Ladies and gentlemen what a way to start Pride! We're only seconds into the Pay Per View and Kevin Hurts has already had his first match of the evening, easily turning Dylan Wolfe aside to retain his coveted X-Treme Championship.
KK: Something tells me he'll have a little more difficulty retaining the International Title against Michael Diamond later tonight! But before we continue, we're taking it to the back.
The camera goes to the back we see the HWA World Heavyweight Champion "The Celtic Warrior Kevin Conner stretching out, and Pocket Change walks up to him.
PC: You ready?
KC: OF course I'm ready.
PC: I mean dude, are you sure you're ready? This match is nuts.
KC: Dude seriously its ok. If I were you, I'd be worried about Ron, I mean you did take his mom tombstone, that's something that might piss him off.
PC: Royalty? Please, that match is going to be nthing but a two minute bathroom break. I'm going to beat his ass so bad, we're goign to need to dig another grave next to his mom so he can be buried there.
KC: Hell yeah. Just do me a favor during your match.
PC: What is that?
KC: Don't touch that New Generation ring.
PC: Alright man, i still don't think its the best idea, there's still time to change that.
KC: There's no chaging, like you say.. you cant change this.
The two laugh and Change walks away.
RR: Seems to me like no one much like this Bigg Money fellow.
KK: I don't see why not, he's a great guy!
RR: Keith... were you even present last month at EoE? You know, when he and the rest of NGW put Trent Brown in the hospital for a solid month?
KK: What? I didn't see that.
RR: I swear, Keith, sometimes, you are incorrigible.
KK: I do what I can, Trent. I do what I can.
Money climbs into the ring, and the lights dim a bit as "November Rain" by Guns 'n' Roses hits the PA. The crowd's cheers raise up for an old fan favorite. Judge quietly makes his way to the ring, saying nothing, not even acknowledging his fans. He looks a bit off, as if his head isn't fully in the game tonight.
RR: Judge not looking so good out there.
KK: Probably scared of Bigg Money!
RR: Somehow, I doubt that.
The two square off, and Wallace Cunningham is just about to call for the bell to begin the match when another man in a zebra shirt climbs into the ring and taps his shoulder. He stops, and the two converse for a while before Wallace steps out of the ring. The new referee calls for the bell and the two men lock up.
RR: Now who the hell is that who just took our Senior Referee's job?
KK: I'm not sure. Hold on, I'm getting word from the back. He's the newest HWA employee, his name is… Giles Jacobs.
RR: Well... alright, whatever.
Judge easily overpowers the smaller BM and throws him into the ropes. As Biggs comes back, Judge sets up for a clothesline, but Biggs ducks under and flies into the opposite ropes. Judge turns around, but Biggs has already made it back and leaps, catching Judge with a flying clothesline and bringing him down. The crowd 'oohs' at the performance.
RR: People maybe getting behind Money here?
KK: I think they're just getting behind the move, to be honest.
Judge gets back up and they lock up again. This time, however, instead of doing the usual followup into a headlock, Judge shoves Biggs back and lifts up his right foot, booting him in the face and taking him down. Biggs takes it hard, sliding on the mat and getting up to his feet, and starts to lay punches into Judge angrily. Judge, taken by surprise, takes the hits for a few moments, until he finally snaps back out of it and blocks the next, retaliating with a heavy haymaker that sends Biggs down once more. He goes down for the pinfall attempt, but Jacob Giles is over in the corner, inspecting his nails.
RR: What the hell?! Get down there, Giles!
Giles finally realizes what is going on and goes down to count. One, Biggs kicks out. Judge gets up and shoots a rather unpleasant look toward Giles, who just shrugs and looks at Judge with biggest shit-eating grin ever. This riles up Judge a bit more, and he turns to fully face Giles with a glaring look on his face. This allows Biggs to get behind him and low blow him, following it up with a quick rollup pin. Giles drops to his knees and goes for the quick count: onetwothr- And Judge kicks out.
RR: Oh my GOD! Giles is clearly cheating Judge here!
KK: So? He kicked out, didn't he?
RR: Just barely! The pure veteran talent that Judge brings to the field helped him immensely there.
Judge gets to his feet, still a bit weak after the attack. He knows that Giles was screwing him, but by this time, knew better than to turn his back on the opponent. Speaking of his opponent, Biggs came after Judge, who kicked him in the gut for trying. Biggs doubles over, and Judge positions him between his legs for a powerbomb. He lifts him up onto his shoulders, but Biggs comes to and starts to rain down punch after punch on Judge's head. Judge, however, holds him up, refusing to fall victim, but not yet able to complete the move. Pocket Change runs down to the ring.
RR: And here comes that other bastard!
Change gets to ringside, where Judge was finding himself dangerously close to. Biggs still rains down punches on Judge, and Change grabs his ankle and pulls, throwing Judge off balance. Biggs capitalizes, nailing a sit-down faceplant out of the move. He rolls Judge over and goes for the pin. Giles, again, goes for a quick count. Judge gets his foot on the ropes, but Giles, who fully sees it, acts as if he doesn't. Onetwothree. The bell rings and Bigg Money wins.
RR: God dammit! Judge gets royally screwed tonight! If you'll pardon the pun..
KK: And it doesn't look like they're done, either.
PC slides into the ring, and the two start to put the boots to Judge. It's not long before the Kevins Conner and Hurts find themselves in the ring too, stomping on Judge viciously. Finally, Conner breaks off his assault and grabs a steel chair from under the ring, while the other three NGW members lift Judge to his feet. While they hold him in place, Conner nails him head-on with a head-splitting chair-shot. Laughing, the NGW leaves, but not after Bigg Money spits on Judge's fallen body.
RR: Those NGW bastards are gonna pay someday, Keith!
KK: Speaking of pay... I wonder if that new Giles fellow isn't on the payroll of the owners. After all, they seemed to have something against Judge.
RR: I don't know, Keith, only time will tell, I suppose.
The camera is on in the back and Conner is there at the vending machine getting himself a can of soda when Bigg Money comes up and talks to him.
BM: You sure about this match later on?
KC: Yeah I'm sure about this match, I mean why would I be? It was my idea.
BM: Its jsut we all don't wnat to see you get to hurt, thatd fucking suck man!
KC: It would fucking suck, but its also not going to happen. Danny Starr is going down not me, you all need to remember that.
BM: You're a smart man Conner, we go back, I trust you man.
KC: Thanks dude.
BM: Keep that belt and beat that bitches ass.
Conner smiles and they walk away, but Conner turns around.
KC: Hey Bigg?
Money turns around.
BM: Yeah?
KC: You give that gift to chase?
BM: Um, yeah....?
With shifty eyes Bigg Money walk saway quickly and Conner has a smirk on his face.
KK: Ladies and Gentlemen, please give it up for your favourite play by play announcer and mine - TRENT BROWN!!!!
The crowd give a standing ovation to the returning HWA legend. He makes his way down to ringside and pulls on a head set.
TB: Wow! What a great reception! Thanks for that Keith!
KK: No problem. Good to have you back my old friend!
TB: I'm just about recovered now, but it seems that the NGW are still throwing their weight around.
KK: They certainly are. Having said that, your temporary replacement - Ron Royalty - is going to get a chance to shut one of their mouths right now in Pocket Change!
TB: Yes, he's certainly got it coming to him!
"Back Then" by Mike Jones hits and the crowd boo almost automatically as Pocket Change saunters his way down to the ring. He flips the bird to a couple of fans and then cockily jumps into the ring.
"I predict a Riot" by the Kaiser Chiefs hits and Ron Royalty appears at the top of the ramp. The crowd go crazy for the HWA's favourite son. Royalty walks down to the ring, slapping hands with a few fans. He climbs inside and awaits the bell.
TB: Ron Royalty looks to be in great shape here. Perhaps on his return match a few weeks ago he was mentally unprepared, but now he seems both physically and mentally ready.
KK: Not bad for a guy in his 51st year of life!
TB: Yeah, he's the Ric Flair of the HWA for sure!
The bell rings and Pocket Change comes straight out for Royalty, the two men tussling in the centre of the ring initially.
KK: It will be interesting to see how long this match remains in the ring, what with it being a street fight.
Almost as if he had heard this, Pocket Change reaches for his blood stained dented chair which was laying at ring side. Royalty slides out of the ring and grabs a table from underneath. Pocket Change leaps over the top rope and dropkicks the table which Ron is holding in front of him. Both men, plus the table and the chair end up in a heap on the floor.
KK: Well ok, I guess it won't take all that long then.
Ron is the first to recover. He grabs Change's chair and whacks him over the head with it. Change slumps back down again. Royalty tosses the chair aside and begins to look for another weapon. It's not long before he sees it - it's a pot plant, set at ringside for decoration. Pocket Change is just getting to his feet once more, when Ron cracks the plant pot over his head. The clay pot breaks into pieces, and the soil gets in Change's hair. He makes a vain effort to clear some of the soil, before he drops to a knee, the weight of the clay pot sending him a little dizzy.
TB: I think Ron Royalty is enjoying himself here. Hard not to agree with him too, especially in light of the things that Pocket Change did to his mother's gravestone last week.
KK: Aww Trent you've softened while you were out! Do you REALLY think that was his mother's REAL grave stone?! The English authorities wouldn't let something like that out of the country! It was just a stunt.
TB: Well even if it was, it was a sick stunt.
Change has by this time recovered and has the plant in his hand. He starts whipping it into Ron's face. Ron tries to counter with a roundhouse kick, but Change ducks, and then kicks Royalty in the groin.
TB: OOOH!
KK: AAAH!
Royalty collapses to the ground. Change drops an elbow to Royalty's face.
TB: Insult has just been added to the injury there.
KK: No kidding.
Ron attempts to stand up but Change clotheslines Royalty back down.
KK: Oh God, here come the cavalry, again.
Bigg Money and Kevin Hurts come down to the ring, pushing a shopping cart full of weapons. They get to near the ring where Ron and Change are and start emptying the cart's load onto the ground. Change takes a moment to consider what his next weapon should be. He finally selects a computer keyboard. He takes the keyboard in one hand and pretends to type something with the other. He shrugs and then whacks Royalty over the head with it - keys fly in all directions. Next, at Kevin Hurts' indication, Change grabs a shovel.
TB: Uh oh, this could cause some serious injuries.
Change approaches Royalty, but as he swings the shovel, Royalty kicks it, and it lands in Pocket Change's face. Change staggers back a couple of steps. Hurts and Biggz catch him and steady him. Royalty though runs towards them and clotheslines all three of them to the floor.
KK: Bad move for Royalty there.
TB: How?! He just took all three men out in one move!
KK: No, he just pissed off three men in one move!
Sure enough, the three of them recover and start to triple team Royalty.
TB: This isn't fair. It's 3 on 1 dammit.
KK: I did say this would happen.
TB: Yeah but it's not like the referee can even do anything about it. It's a street fight.
KK: And what do you do in street fights? You ALWAYS bring back up in case it's needed.
Kevin Hurts hits the freak out on Royalty. Ron smacks onto the floor, but then Bigg Money hits a tornado DDT. Royalty hits the floor once more, this time he twiches a couple of times. But then, Pocket Change hits Royalty with the Full Hopper. Ron goes down again.
TB: No way anyone could kick out of that.
1-2-3 and it's over.
KK: Pocket Change with a glorious victory over Ron Royalty!
TB: Hmmm maybe. A tainted victory for sure. Look at this now, the NGW are laughing at Ron Royalty. Thats just disrespectful. Somebody, and somebody SOON is going to put a stop to this.
";I got 10 friends and a crowbar that says you aint gonna do jack"; by Underoath hits, and C4 comes out to the huge explosions of pyro and boos from the crowd. He flips off the crowd, and gets into the ring.
"Remedy" by Cold breaks, and the crowd goes crazy for the HWA President, Sett! He gets into the ring, and he and C4 go toe to toe and mouth off before just starting to trade rights and lefts!
TB: And we're underway in this, the "Battle of the Behemoths" here at Pride!
KK: And it starts off with massive rights and lefts from both competitors! Ladies and gentlemen, this is not going to be for the faint of heart or for those that love technical wrestling. This is going to be two huge competitors trying to beat the hell out of each other!
TB: Power power and MORE power!
KK: It looks like Sett has got the upper hand and C4 is retreating a bit, Sett follows him into the corner and starts hammering away with huge knees to the stomach of C4.
Sett continues to pummel away on C4, but the ref jumps in and breaks it up. Sett moves back to the center of the ring and goes for a running body splash onto C4, but C4 counters back with a leg to the face, followed up by a bulldog headlock and drops Sett, who lands face first onto the mat and starts to kick his feet, C4 rolls to the side of the ropes. Using the ropes, C4 climbs up while Sett pushes himself up. C4 sees this, and takes three steps and kicks Sett right in the ribs, causing Sett to howl in pain and grab his ribs.
TB: Did you hear that?? C4 might have broken Sett's ribs with that kick!
KK: There was definitely some force behind that kick!
C4 goes on the offensive, stomping a hole in Sett's abdomen and pounds away. Sett rolls out of the ring, and the ref grabs C4 and starts to count.
TB: Sett needs a breather in the early goings of this match.
KK: I wonder if he's not in the shape he needs to be.
TB: I think what we're looking at are two huge competitors with the chance to inflict massive damage on one another without much effort.
Sett is on the outside grabbing his ribs. C4 smiles, and motions for Sett to get back in. As Sett cautiously puts his hands on the ropes, C4 tries a baseball slide, which Sett dodges and counters by grabbing C4 and yanking him outside, where Sett swings him into the steel steps!
KK: C4 goes face first into the steel steps! Nice counter by Sett!
TB: The ref's count is at 8!
Just then, the lights in the arena flicker and go out for a brief moment before coming back on again. Both wrestlers point at each other, thinking that the other person was the cause of the malfunction. The ref stops counting, and both men climb back into the ring. They lock up, and C4 overpowers Sett quickly and grabs him from behind, and goes for a back suplex, which Sett counters by elbows to the face. Once C4 pets go, Sett runs, bounces off the side of the ring and goes for a running clothesline. C4 ducks, and when Sett comes back he gets put right into a massive spinning spine buster that shakes the ring!
TB: That was one HELL of an impact!
KK: C4 is standing above Sett now with some really bad intent! C4 grabs Sett's arm and slams the toes of his boot into Sett's ribs again!
Not satisfied, C4 grabs Sett's arm and holds it up, while dropping repeated knees into Sett's side. You can hear Sett grunting and C4 continues to pummel on that side of Sett's rib cage.
TB: This is actually methodic, If Sett loses use of that side of his body, alot of his power moves become unusable!
KK: You think?
Sett tries to roll away, but C4 grabs and rolls him back. C4 pulls his leg back for another kick, but as he does that, Sett swings his leg out and catches C4 off guard, and puts him to the ground! As C4 falls, Sett rolls on top and procedes to pound away on C4's face ultimate fighting style!
TB: I don't think Sett's done yet!
KK: He's going to have to compensate for that rib cage injury somehow.
Sett lets up on pummeling C4, and stands to his feet. He starts yelling at C4 to get up, and when he does, Sett grabs his arm and flips him back over on to the mat, but locking in an armbar. Sett clamps on the armbar and wrenches it immediately, causing screams of pain to come from C4. C4 get a leg on the ropes, and the ref tries to break it up, but Sett locks in like a rotweiler and twists C4's arm until he's screaming bloody murder. Finally, the ref breaks the hold and Sett goes to his feet. C4 stands holding his arm and cursing at Sett. The big men lock up, but neither can gain an advantage as both men's upper bodies have been rendered less then 100%. The lights blink off again, and stay off longer this time.
TB: What in the hell??
KK: This has got to be some dirty joke hatched by NGW!
TB: Or what if its per Sett's orders?
KK: It doesn't make sense.
When the lights turn back on, both men look at each other and start yelling. They beging to push each other, and as Sett is pushed back by C4, he trips and pushes the ref out of the ring to the floor below. Sett stumbles, and slides out of the ring to assist the ref.
TB: Sett is an idiot, he should be focusing on C4!
KK: As HWA president, he has a duty to the employees of this company.
As Sett assists with the ref, C4 grabs a chair and measures Sett outside of the ring. He charges and swings, but Sett sees it coming and falls to avoid contact. C4 makes contact with the referee, knocking him completely unconscious.
TB: Wrong place, wrong time for our referee. Good lord, what a chair shot!
Sett yells in defiance at C4, and nails him with a low blow. C4 drops the chair, and Sett nails him with a DDT on the outside! C4 goes down, and Sett leans up against the ring looking around. He throws the chair in the ring, and rolls C4 in with it. C4 comes to, and starts to get up. As he gets to his knees, Sett grits his teeth and swings the chair against C4's head, knocking over with a sickening crack! C4 falls to the mat, and the blood starts to spread once he hits the ground.
KK: This match has totally degenerated into a brawl.
Sett throws the chair down, and looks around the ring.
TB: Oh my god, look, C4 is getting up!
As Sett stares down the ramp waiting for the calvary to arrive, C4 gets to his feet. He rubs his bloody head, and smears the blood over his face. Tasting the blood, he becomes enraged and starts blowing the blood from his mouth. Sett turns around, and is almost taken aback by the sight. C4 yells and charges at Sett, who ducks his charge and counters with a grab to C4's throat. Both men grit their teeth, and C4 kicks Sett in the stomach. Sett releases the hold, and is flung by C4 into the ropes. C4 bounces off the other side of the ropes, and both men catch each other with clotheslines, dropping each onto their own half of a steel chair! The crash is sickening, and both men are out.
KK: Look at the back of Sett's head where it made contact with the chair. There's definitely blood coming from an injury there.
TB: Where's the other referee to put an end to this?
KK: I guess the saw what happened to the other one and decided they wanted nothing to do with it!
TB: Both men are down, and this has just been an unorthodox battle sheer power!
KK: Look, somehow Sett is getting up!
Sett is trying to stumble to his feet. C4 is stirring, but it's Sett who's to his feet first. He lifts C4 up, and readies him for the Journey!
TB: I think we're going to have some sort of finality to this match right here, right now! Sett's setting up C4.
KK: Look, I don't think he can do it!
Sett calls for the Journey, and goes to lock it in. But as he goes to lift C4, his badly bruised rib cage gives out on him, and he can't do it!
TB: No, he can do it, this the HWA President we're talking about!
Sett sets up again, and gets C4 up, but Sett falters and C4 falls to the mat unharmed. Aware of his situation, C4 grabs the chair and uses it to jab Sett in the side. Sett doubles over, and C4 goes to hook his arms!
KK: Dropping Bombs! Dropping bombs!
C4 hooks in Sett, gets him up, but Sett counters on the way up and comes down with a DDT!
TB: SETT REVERSED IT! HE REVERSED IT!
Sett jumps to his feet, and the crowd starts to roar. As they do, 2 men appear and attack Sett from the crowd!
KK: NO! NO! NGW is here! Dammit all to hell! They've already taken out Judge and Royalty tonight!
Bigg Money and Pocket Change both put the boots to Sett, who manages to push them away. He gives the big boot to Bigg Money, and grabs Pocket Change with two hands and throws him over onto C4. Sett calls for both men to come on, abut as he does Kevin Conner slips into the ring and smacks Sett with the HWA Title, knocking him to the ground. Bigg Money and Pocket Change grab Sett and hold him while Conner checks on C4. C4 starts to get up, and Conner goes over to Sett who's been tied up in the ropes by Bigg Money and Pocket Change. Sett is coming to, and C4 starts wailing on his face. Conner laughs, holds up the World Title. The crowd starts to throw trash into the ring, and Conner taunts Sett with the HWA Title.
TB: I think Sett is going to be crucified.. what a shame, the President of the HWA is going to be beaten down with no back up.
KK: Let's not forget... Conner still has Starr to deal with tonight!
The lights go off again as Conner gets a mic.
Conner: All of yo...
Then Conner's mic is shut down.
TB: What is going on with these lights?!?! It's obviously not NGW.
KK: Conner is screaming to the ring crew about something.
The lights come back on, and a cloud of smoke comes from the entranceway as "Slowburn" by Revelation Theory hits. NGW all look out toward the ramp way, but what they don't notice is that a figure has slipped in the ring from behind, dressed in a long black jacket, jeans, a black shirt and dark glasses.
TB: Who is that??
KK: Whoever he is... he's got a baseball bat in his hand, and I think he means business!
TB: Baseball bat... that can only be...
The man in the ring walks behind Bigg Money and clocks him from behind with the knob of the bat. He grabs the ropes, releases Sett and grabs Pocket Change before leaving him on the mat with a huge DDT. Conner and C4 turn around, and Conner looks like he's seen a ghost!
Conner: YOU??
TB: IT'S THE CHOSEN ONE! TCO IS BACK TO HELP EVEN THE SCORE!
C4 rushes TCO, but TCO sidesteps him and lands a huge Superkick, knocking C4 to the mat. Conner rolls out of the ring with his belt, and TCO yells at him as he walks up the ramp. He points the bat at Conner, and motions at his belt. Sett gets up, and Conner retreats as Bigg Money and Pocket Change run up to him. TCO throws off the jacket and motions to the crowd, setting them off. He yells something to Sett, and Sett nods.
TB: JOURNEY! JOURNEY! JOURNEY!
Conner cringes, and TCO gets on the microphone.
TCO: Conner... there's a new fucking sheriff in town.
With that, "Slowburn"; hits again, and TCO hugs Sett in the middle of the ring.
KK: I can't believe what we've seen! The Chosen One came back to help even the odds in the battle against NGW!
TB: What a NIGHT!!! Sett, our President WINS against the NGW! Talk about leading by example! Sett got the job done!Once again, the camera opens up in the hallway, on the same door as before. It opens and none other than Syren steps out laughing a little bit. She turns to the door, grins at somebody who remains hidden, but can be assumed to be Anderson, who is also chuckling. Anderson: Yeah, that was a great time. Oh, and Syren? Welcome back. Syren: Thank you. With that, Syren shakes the mans hand and the office door closes. She turns to go down the hall, flashing a megawatt smile at the camera before tossing her hair and gliding down the hall, a view the camera follows til she disappears out of sight. The scene fades off once more.
KK: Wow! The former 2 time champion Syren is back! But wait, i'm getting word that Kevin Conner wants to stay something to us. Lets go back there.
We switch back to the HWA World Heavyweight Champion "The Celtic Warrior" Kevin Conner standing there with the HWA Pride logo behind him.
KC: You know a lot of people have been asking me to reconsider the match tonight. They dont want to see me get hurt and I know my Connernanians don't want to see me get hurt. The phone calls, e-mails, texy messages, letters, and straight up people talking to me. THe New Generation Match is the most dangerous match is HWA history, hell in the history of wrestling entertainment. Danny Starr and Myself are going to step into that ring and fight. Or so it was scheduled. You see after long and hard consideration, I have decided...
The crowd begins to boo
KC: I have decided to continue with what was planned. Danny Starr get ready, because at the end of the night, when that stretcher comes out and takes you the hospital, remember you didn't have to show up tonight, you didn't have to step foot in that ring. Tonight will be Danny Starrs FINAL wreslting match, and that my friends is sensational beacuse that's just the way I am!
KK: A lot of great matches here tonight, Ron
RR: I have to agree with you there Keith. But now we have two men that have had it out for each other for weeks.
KK: That’s an understatement! These two men don’t seem to stand each other.
RR: And it all started over what happened to that belt hanging above the ring right now.
Ron points to the International Title hanging over the middle of the ring. The camera pans up to show the International Title indeed hanging high above the ring, suspended by the wire attached to the rafters. The cameras switch around showing several ladders lying up against the barricade surrounding the ringside area.
TB: You can feel the electricity in the air and the combatants aren’t even out here yet!
RR: It appears the crowd can feel it too. You can almost see the uneasiness amongst them. They can’t wait to kick off this match!
The lights in the arena dim as blue strobe lights begin to flicker and “Immortal” by Adema blares over the speakers. The HWA X-treme Champion makes his way out from behind the curtain.
KK: Hear we go ladies and gentlemen! The first of two people in this match is making his way to the ring!
Kevin Hurts walks confidently down the ramp, a wide grin on his face. He looks out upon the sea of people as they all boo his appearance. Hurts slides into his ring as the arena continues to fill with boos toward the X-treme Champion. He hands over the title to the referee who in turn hands it to the time keeper. The lights begin to return to normal as Kevin Hurts walks over to a corner and faces the ramp, waiting for his opponent.
RR: In the ring now is the “champion” if you will.
KK: This all started because Hurts here decided to parade around backstage using the International Title as a trophy!
RR: Diamond most definitely did not take that lightly!
The arena is silent. Everyone is on the edge of their seat awaiting the arrival of “Your Hero” Michael Diamond. Movement in the seats is minimal at best. Finally the silence is broken by “Points of Authority” by Linkin Park. The entire crowd jumps out of their seats cheering as “Your Hero” Michael Diamond walks out from behind the black curtain. The entire arena seems to shake from the sheer volume of the crowd.
RR: Finally he’s here! Michael Diamond is making his way out to the ring and the crowd is going absolutely nuts!
KK: Calm down Ron. We are all thankful that Diamond has shown up but we have to use our indoor voices. Not to mention we have to seem professional.
RR: This whole NGW group just rubs me the wrong way Keith. I’m glad someone like Michael Diamond has taken up arms against them.
KK: Same here Ron. But you still have to maintain your professionalism as a commentator.
TB: I’m with Ron on this one!
A blue fluorescent showers over the audience as Diamond comes out on stage. He walks down the ramp wearing his million-dollar smile as the crowd seems to get louder with each step he takes. He comes to a sudden stop halfway down the ramp as he crouches and flexes his muscles and a series of silver and gold pyros shoot off behind him. he continues his march down the ramp slapping hands with the fans that got ringside seats and rolls into the ring. He climbs to his feet and ascends the ropes posing for the crowd as hundreds of thousands of camera flashes light up the arena.
TB: Everyone in the arena giving a warm welcome to the HWA veteran. Obviously they have been awaiting this moment for weeks as these two confronted each other on the last Survival two weeks ago.
KK: Yeah. Diamond put out the challenge of a gauntlet match against the entire NGW. He put up a hell of a fight too. But it did appear that the sheer numbers got the better of him though.
RR: That AND the sledgehammer and tacs.
Diamond hops off the ropes and comes face to face with Kevin Hurts in the middle of the ring. They glare straight into each others eyes, neither flinching.
KK: Both men of almost the same height. Size will not solve this matter. It’s all gonna come down to speed and stamina.
TB: Diamond stands about an inch over Hurts and fifteen pounds heavier. As you said Keith, size will not solve this conflict.
Hurts points straight up at the International Title hanging above, not moving his eyes from the challenger. He mouths the words, “This title belongs to me! I am walking out of this match with it!”
RR: It appears Hurts isn’t quite done trash talking to Diamond yet.
Diamond responds in kind, “Is that so? We’ll just see about that!” Diamond slaps Hurts across his faces showing no fear. A look of shock is apparent on Hurts’ face as a smile forms on Diamonds.
TB: Did you hear that slap?!
RR: I think people in the back rows heard it!
KK: Diamond is showing no fear of NGW member Kevin Hurts. In fact he just insulted him with that hard slap!
Hurts shoves Diamond back and Diamond steps forward once again as both men tie up. The ref calls for the bell as the action is now under way! Diamond gets the better of Hurts and catches him in a side headlock. Hurts uses his weight and sends Diamond into the ropes freeing his head from his grasp. As Diamond returns, Hurts goes for a clothesline only to have Diamond duck under and counter with double-knee back cracker.
RR: Looks like Diamond has the early advantage in the match!
KK: Diamond has a lot more ring experience than Kevin Hurts and he’s showing all of us it.
Diamond stomps away on Hurts a few times before walking over to the ropes. In an amazing feat of agility, Diamond jumps up to the second rope and flies back at the prone Hurts twisting in mid air with a springboard twisting senton splash. Hurts grabs his gut as the full weight of Diamond comes crashing down upon him.
TB: Did you see that?! Amazing agility by Michael Diamond!
KK: Obviously he isn’t going to hold back in this match. He has defeated each member of the NGW at least once in his career, at least all except Kevin Hurts here.
Diamond pulls Hurts up to his feet but his hands are quickly smacked away as Hurts unleashes a flurry rights into the face of “Your Hero!” Hurts grabs Diamond by his arms and whips him into the ropes and follows him into them with a clothesline that topples both men onto the floor.
RR: Both men spilling out onto the floor! I can already tell that this is going to be a hellish match!
KK: You can say that again!
Hurts is first up, Diamond quickly after him. Hurts grabs him by the head and smashes Diamond’s head into the barricade dazing him. Hurts then goes for the irish whip towards the stairs only to have “Your Hero” reverse it and send Hurts crashing into the steel steps sending the top sliding to the floor. Hurts grabs his shoulder in pain.
KK: Oh my god! Hurts was going to send Diamond careening into those steps but Diamond flipped it around and send Hurts into them instead.
RR: Not only that but it moved the steps themselves! Usually it’s the man that bounces off the steps not the other way around!
Diamond grabs one of the ladders from ringside and slides it into the ring. He walks over to Hurts and picks him up and rolls him inside the ring as well. Diamond climbs up on the apron about to enter the ring, but Hurts leaps up and hangs Diamond up on the ropes in a hangman which sends him stumbling back and off the apron to the floor. As diamond climbs to his feet he sees Hurts bounce off the opposing ropes and come back, flying over the top rope in the Freakin’ Insane! A chant of “Holy Shit!” kicks up in the crowd!
RR: Hurts throws caution to the wind and sends himself flying outside taking him and Diamond down.
KK: I think both men threw caution to the wind when they stepped into the ring. These guys are trying to kill each other.
RR: Look! Hurts is starting to favor his right shoulder, the same shoulder that crashed into the steps moments ago.
Hurts is indeed starting to grab at his shoulder as he climbs to his feet. He grabs Diamonds head and drags him to his feet. Hurts whips Diamond hard into the barricade moving it back a few inches. The crowd reaches over the barricade slapping Diamond on his shoulder and chest as Hurts approaches him. He grabs Diamond by the back of his head and pulls him off the barricade only to swing him around his body and smash his head back into it.
RR: A vicious attack by that coward Hurts!
KK: Calm down Ron! The rest of the NGW may come down to ringside!
RR: Let them!
Hurts picks Diamond up from the floor, a glazed look in his eye. In a sudden burst of adrenaline and will power Diamond breaks free of the hold and jumps up onto the apron. Before Hurts has time to react Diamond lunges off the apron and hits a hurricaranna sending Hurts to the mat.
TB: A desperation move right there by Diamond! Can he keep on it or was it a one time deal?
Trent’s question is answered as Diamond picks up Hurts from the ground and rolls him once more into the ring, all except his head which hangs over the edge of the apron. Diamond slides into the ring and pulls himself to his feet. The million-dollar smile forms on his face as his idea becomes apparent to the fans watching. Diamond, in a feat of pure athleticism, leaps over the top rope and crashes down upon Hurts with a leg drop.
RR: Holy Shit! Did you see that Keith?!
KK: I’m watching the same match as you and I don’t believe it! Diamond just jumped over the ropes and hit Kevin Hurts with a leg drop on the apron! His throat could be crushed!
Hurts rolls all the way into the ring as Diamond picks himself up of the mat. He slides inside the ring and grabs the ladder sitting inside from earlier. Diamond picks it up and sets it up in the corner. Hurts, using the ropes to brace himself, slowly climbs to his feet. Diamond walks over and lands a couple clubs to the upper back and neck region to soften him up. Using all his strength, Diamond whips Hurts into the corner bracing the ladder, the force of the whip sending Diamond to the mat. The entire ring seems to shake as Hurts crashes hard into the ladder standing against the turnbuckles. The sound of man meets metal echoes throughout the arena.
KK: Hurts’ back could be broken from the sheer force of that collision!!
RR: It’s almost ungodly as to what these men will put each other through!
KK: It’s all about what this Pay Per View states. It’s about Pride!
Hurts lies on the mat holding his back as pain racks his entire back. Diamond climbs up to his feet and walks over to Hurts and the ladder, which lies on the mat besides Hurts. Diamond drags the ladder closer to the center of the ring but doesn’t set it up. Instead he picks up Hurts and bounces him off the ropes. As Hurts returns Diamond lifts him up with a hip toss causing Hurts to land back first on the ladder! Hurts screams in pain as he arcs his back instantly after contact.
KK: Diamond is relentless in his attack on Hurts!
RR: What do you expect? In Diamond’s eyes, Hurts has dishonored the International Title by carrying it around as nothing more than a trophy! I’d be doing the same thing as Diamond if given the chance!
Hurts rolls off the hard metal of the ladder still clinging his back. Diamond grabs hold of the ladder and sets it up in the center of the ring. Looking down upon Hurts grasping his back in pain, he begins his climb up.
TB: It could all be over in a matter over moments. All Diamond has to do is climb the ladder and grab the title!
KK: Look! Hurts is back to his feet! How the hell is he up already?! He back may be broken in places and yet he’s up on his own two feet!
Hurts sees Diamond climbing the ladder, inching his way closer to the victory. Not feeling the strength to climb up after him he jumps up to the second rope…
KK: What the hell is Hurts doing? Diamond’s the other way and he’s getting closer to the belt hanging above!
Hurts springboards off the second rope and turns in mid-air dropkicking the ladder off to one side! Diamond, close to the top, falls hard onto the mat from at least ten feet up onto his side! Hurts lays out on the ground trying to recover enough strength to remain on the offensive.
KK: Oh my god! Did you see that?! A springboard dropkick saved Hurts at the last moment and sent Diamond crashing into the mat from ten feet up!
Hurts begins to pull himself up to his feet, clutching as best as he can at his back. He winces in pain with every step he takes as he closes in on the hurting Diamond. Hurts grabs ladder by the bottom and drags it around to face Diamond. Hurts grabs Diamond’s left leg and sets it in between the sides of the ladder creating a sandwich of metal and leg. Almost instantly Hurts unleashes several hard stomps onto the ladder, crushing Diamond’s leg trapped inside! Diamond yells out as the metal crunches around his leg!
RR: Good Lord! Hurts is trying to break Diamond’s leg! That sick bastard is trying to cripple Diamond!
KK: You can’t climb a ladder if you can stand up!
RR: How can you justify such a sick act of violence?!
KK: I’m not. I’m just stating a known fact for the ladder match.
Hurts takes a break from stomping the ladder into Diamond’s leg to put the boot to Diamond himself. In a fit of confidence, Hurts takes a moment to showboat to the crowd causing them to begin to boo his egotistical ways. With a sick smile on his face he sprints over to the ropes and jumps up onto the second rope and lands a Lionsault onto the ladder still trapping Diamond’s leg. Hurts grabs his gut as Diamond screams in pain. Diamond pulls his leg out from the clutches of the ladder and begins grabbing it checking it for breaks.
TB: This match is becoming brutal! I don’t think either man will walk out of here on both feet, at least not without help.
RR: Or a stretcher.
Hurts rolls out of the ring and begins searching under the ring for something. After tossing the skirt of the ring up onto the apron to get a better view he spots what he’s looking for. He reaches up under the ring and pulls out not only one, but two wooden tables!
RR: What the hell does he have planned for those two tables?!
KK: I don’t know, but it’s probably not going to be very good for Diamond!
Hurts slides the tables into the ring and quickly follows them in. He stomps Diamond a few times before setting one up in the corner and the other close nearby for later use. Hurts rolls back out of the ring and walks over to where the time keeper is sitting. He yells at the time keeper and tosses him out of his seat. Hurts grabs the steel chair and slams it shut. He returns to the ring and sees Diamond beginning to climb to his feet. Hurts takes the top edge of the chair and drives it hard into the back of the knee of Diamond’s leg!
RR: How much more pain can Diamond stand before he finally breaks?
KK: More like, “…before his leg breaks!”
Diamond grabs his leg in pain as Hurts picks him up to his feet. He sets him up against the table in the corner and walks to the chair. Diamond, out of it, puts up a minimal resistance. Hurts sets up the chair just feet away from Diamond and the table. As soon as he reaches the other end of the ring, Hurts takes off in a sprint towards Diamond. He jumps and uses the chair as leverage to inflict more damage with the spear. At the last possible second Diamond rolls out of the way sending Hurts head first through the table!
TB: Hurts took too much time and paid the price! Hurts looked for the flying spear on Diamond through the table but all he got was a head full of splinters!
RR: Finally, he knows what Diamond went through on Survival! Talk about “what goes around comes around!”
Kevin Hurts grabs his head in pain as he lays in the wreckage of the table. Diamond slowly crawls over to the ladder lying just a few feet away. Hurts begins moving underneath the pieces of broken table as Diamond uses the ropes to stand on his feet. Hurts climbs to his feet and places his hand on his head checking for blood. He finds none. After shaking the cobwebs out he stumbles over to Diamond but catches a hard right that almost throws Diamond off balance and sends Hurts back a step.
RR: A hard right by Diamond! Hurts almost seemed taken back by the sudden retaliation!
TB: Good news is that Diamond is still in this match!
Hurts swings for a return punch of his own, only to have Diamond duck underneath. Diamond quickly locks his arms around Hurts’ waist and tosses him up and over the ropes onto the floor outside! Diamond falls to the mat, his leg giving out from the full weight of both men.
KK: Desperation move by Diamond there! However it appears his leg couldn’t handle the weight and buckled under it!
RR: I wouldn’t count Diamond out of it yet, Keith! This match may be far from over!
Diamond picks himself up and limps over to the ladder still lying on the mat. Diamond sets it up as fast as he can; hoping to end this match before Hurts gets back into the ring. Slowly he begins to ascend the ladder, each rung a new wave of pain though his leg. Diamond clenches his teeth, fighting through the pain as he climbs the ladder. outside the ring, Hurts begins to regain his senses. He looks up to see Diamond slowly making his way up the ladder.
RR: Come on Diamond! You can make it!
KK: I thought we were supposed to be unbiased.
Hurts slides in the ring and scrambles over to the ladder. in an act of desperation Hurts lands a few blows to Diamonds lower back, halting him instantly. Hurts begins his climb up the ladder on the other side, making a mad dash to catch Diamond who has begun his climb to the top again. Both men meet at the top of the ladder, mere inches from the International Title and the end of the match. An all out fist fight begins between the two at the top of the ladder.
RR: Whoever wins this fist fight is assured the victory! They are just inches from the win and the only thing stopping them from winning is the other person!
KK: Yeah, but Ron! Look what’s sitting beside the ladder…it’s the other table Hurts set up earlier! This is getting very dangerous!
Hurts puts up his arm and blocks a right hand from Diamond. He quickly locks his arms around Diamond and jumps off the ladder to the side carrying Diamond with him. both men crash through the table as the Pain Killer (Side Effect) connects. Both men are sprawled out on the mat, table pieces everywhere. A “Holy Shit!” chant picks up in the crowd and is soon filling the arena!
RR: This isn’t a match! It’s a war! These two men are putting each other through hell! Hurts just hit Diamond with the Pain Killer off the ladder and both men went crashing through a table from at least ten feet up!
KK: And the crowd is loving it!
Referee Wallace Cunningham checks on both men. Both seem out of it. Finally Hurts begins to stir. He looks up at the ladder only to see it resting against the ropes on the other side of the ring, an effect of him and Diamond jumping off it moments ago. Not being quite able to draw enough energy to stand up, Hurts crawls over to the ladder and pulls it back off the ropes and on its feet.
RR: Diamond is out of it still and worse off for him is that Kevin Hurts is now trying to climb the ladder. This match has be grueling so far Keith!
KK: When Hurts introduced the table, it had no way to go but grueling.
Hurts make his way slowly up the ladder using almost all the energy he has left. Diamond, out of no where, comes up from beside the ladder and smashes Hurts’ arm with the chair. Hurts grabs his arm as Diamond once again hits Hurts with the chair, only this time in the middle back!
TB: Diamond just saved himself there with that chair! He planted to very precise shots to Kevin Hurts with that chair shot! He started attacking the two spots that have really bother Hurts since the beginning of the match!
The latter of the two chair shots has sent Hurts falling off the ladder from pain. Diamond rests on one knee, keeping his left leg straight and using the chair as a crutch. Diamond is the first to make a move. He stands up and moves over to Hurts and lifts him off the mat. Taking Hurts’ head under his arm and hooking his arm, Diamond lifts Hurts straight up and drops back down in a vertical suplex! With a quick twist of his hips Diamond is back to his stomach and has yet to let go of Hurts. Once again he lifts him up and drops him hard with a second suplex, followed up by another twist of the hips and a third and final suplex for good measure!
RR: There’s the Michael Diamond we all know and love! The “never say die” attitude has brought him back full steam into this match!
KK: Yeah, but for how long? Both of these men have put each other through hell just to get this far! What more can they do to each other?!
RR: We’ll just have to wait and see Keith!
Hurts is grabbing his back which has been hurting him since almost the start of the match. Pushing through the pain he begins to climb to his feet where Diamond is waiting for him. Diamond grabs Hurts by his head and turns quickly, looking for the Diamond Cutter! Regaining his senses, Hurts shoves off Diamond to the ropes narrowly avoiding almost certain disaster. As Diamond bounces back from the ropes hurts once again goes for a clothesline but Diamond merely grabs hold and pulls him to the ground, locking in the Cutting Edge! Hurts screams in pain as Diamond rips and tears at his injured shoulder and arm.
TB: Diamond just went for the Diamond Cutter but Hurts pushed him off but as he came back his took hold and locked in the Cutting Edge! It appears Diamond has just gained his second wind!
Hurts tries to pull Diamonds off of him but to no avail! He rolls over Diamond trying to break it but Diamond rolls through and still has the submission held tight! Hurts raises his hand but just merely clenches it into a fist, trying to cope with the pain!
RR: Hurts is about to tap out! Look at him! he wants to so badly!
KK: Even so, it won’t matter if Diamond can’t climb the ladder to retrieve the title!
Diamond releases his prisoner from the submission hold and rolls out of the ring. He grabs another ladder from off the side of the barricade. Meanwhile Hurts is holding his arm in agony. Diamond rests the ladder up against the apron, leaning it up against the apron making a ramp. Diamond slides into the ring and picks Hurts up by his hair and pulls him closer to the ropes by the ladder. Diamond locks his arms around the torso of Hurts and tosses him up and over the ropes once more in a belly-to-belly suplex. Hurts crashes hard against the ladder set up by Diamond.
KK: Good Lord! That was a vicious belly-to-belly suplex by Diamond to Hurts!
RR: He got exactly what he disserves if you ask me.
KK: Well that leaves Diamond in the ring alone and the only way to go is up! Up to claim the International Title and end this match.
TB: What’s this?! It’s Conner! What the hell is he doing out here?!
KK: I don’t think he liked what Diamond had to say about him in his last promo!
Conner drops his belt at ringside as he slides into the ring and pulls spins Diamond around and lays into him with hard rights. Diamond tries to retaliate but much over his energy has been spent from the match at hand. Hurts grabs hold of Diamond and hits him with the Soul Searcher.
TB: Hurts was just saved by Conner just now! That son of a bitch!
KK: Like Pocket Change and Big Money said, “There is no “I” in NGW!”
Conner rolls outside and helps Hurts to his feet and rolls him inside the ring. Conner looks up under the ring and pulls out a black duffle bag. He grins wide as he tosses it into the ring.
KK: Uh-oh! I think we all know what’s inside that bag! It’s the same thing the NGW used to hurt Diamond on Survival!
Hurts comes to his senses and crawls up to his knees and looks around the ring. He spots the black bag sitting in the ring and Diamond climbing to his feet. Hurts grabs the bag and opens it, then pours its contents out onto the mat in front of him. Million of tacs dump out onto the ring mat as Diamond finally gets on both feet. He and Diamond begin to exchange rights and lefts, each shot rocking the other.
KK: Looks like the pace of the match has slowed down, but I’m not surprised. Both these men have literally put their bodies on the line!
Hurts finally gets the upper hand and delivers a swift kick to the stomach. He sets Diamond up for a suplex of his own, but when he tries to lift up “Your Hero,” Diamond hooks his leg stopping the suplex from happening. Diamond delivers a few hard shots to Hurts’ mid-section and lifts him into the air. But instead of falling backwards, Diamond tosses him forward letting him fall stomach first onto the pile of tacs! The crowd cheers loudly, the arena quivering from the volume!
RR: Diamond reversed a suplex and just face planted Hurts onto the pile of tacs he was going to use on Diamond!
TB: That has to hurt more than we can even imagine!
Hurts rolls out of the pile of tacs, several still puncturing his gut from the initial impact. Diamond picks up his opponent and backs him up against the ropes and fires away with a hard chop across the chest. The crowd “Ohhs” as the echo of the chop makes its way to the people in the top rows.
RR: A hard chop by Diamond! That’s got to hurt even more so since Hurts went chest first into the tacs!
Diamond walks over and pulls the ladder outside into the ring. He picks up the ladder and charges at Hurts looking to smash him in the head with it. Hurts ducks under and as Diamond turns around Hurts executes the Spirit Breaker kicking the ladder into the face of Diamond! Both Diamond and the second ladder collapse on the mat. Hurts picks him self back up and looks over at Diamond on the ground.
KK: What is he thinking about?! Diamond is down! The title’s easy pickings!
TB: “Easy pickings?”
Hurts walks over to the turnbuckle and begins to climb up. As he nears the top a smile begins to form on his face. He lifts both feet up to the top rope and jumps off aiming for the Death from Above!
KK: Ever notice how Hurts’ Death from Above is similar to Diamond’s Prism?
TB: I think you’re just seeing things Keith…
Diamond rolls out of the way and Hurts crashes onto the mat, missing Diamond completely. Both men lay on the mat, each trying to regain his breath. A “Diamond” chant begins to build strength as the fans get behind the fan favorite.
RR: Everyone is on their feet and cheering Michael Diamond to get to his feet.
TB: Hurts went for a big move and got nothing for it. at this point it’s anybody’s game!
Diamond is the first to his feet, much to the delight of the crowd. He looks over at Hurts still dazed from the impact his body made as it collided with nothing but mat. Diamond manages to make his way to the ladder as Hurts begins to stir on the mat just feet away.
TB: We’ve seen this set up before in the match. and each time it ends in something very shocking! I don’t think I can handle watching something like what we’ve seen happen again!
KK: Calm down Trent! These men knew what they’d be getting into when they signed up for this match…
TB: That doesn’t make it any better though!
Hurts grabs hold of the first rung of the ladder and drags himself up the face of it, attempting to catch up with “Your Hero” who isn’t that far along as well. Hurts uses all the strength he has just to catch up with Diamond. Both men meet at the top of the ladder and the fans are crazed with excitement!
RR: Here we go again! These two have met up there earlier in the match and it had a startling resolution! I can only imagine this will be no different!
KK: You got that right Ron! I am still amazed that these guys are still moving after that fall through the table earlier!
TB: It was sick! Plain and simple!
Both men pick up on the fist fight they had started earlier at the top of the ladder. Hurts gets the upper hand and smashes Diamonds head into the top step of the ladder, a gash forming across the forehead of Diamond!
TB: And now Diamond is bleeding! This has just become a bloodbath!
Hurts takes a climbs the final few rungs till he’s standing on the top of the ladder. He stares of fans and a sick smile forms across his busted lips. In a fit of adrenaline he jumps straight over Diamond, grabbing him by the waist in a sunset flip as he flies over him. Diamond is sent summer saulting off the ladder and both men come crashing down hard on the mat as Diamond lands on his head and chest and Hurts lands on his lower back!
KK: OH MY GOD!
RR: OH MY GOD!
TB: OH MY GOD!
KK: DID YOU SEE THAT?!
TB: HOW COULD YOU NOT?!
RR: HURTS JUST HIT HIS FINISHER, THE FREAK OUT, OFF THE LADDER! THAT’S TEN FEET IN THE AIR AND DIAMOND CAME CRASHING DOWN ON HIS HEAD!
Hurts lays out on the ground rolled over on his stomach, the force of landing on his lower back sending a wave of agony throughout his entire back. Diamond lays out on his stomach, blood dripping from the opening on his head onto the mat leaving a little puddle around his face. The crowd stands in awe as a “HOLY SHIT!” chant echoes through out the arena!
TB: I think the fans have the right idea! I don’t think either man will be the same after this match!
KK: I agree whole-heartedly with you Trent!
RR: That finisher of Hurts’ is a sick move on the ground! It’s just ghastly when performed off a ladder ten feet up!
TB: Look at this though! Look at this now!
Both men are crawling to the ladder. It's almost like a slow motion race. Diamond gets a little ahead, and then Hurts, and then Diamond again. Eventually both men reach the top, the crowd whipped up to fever pitch. Both men reach upwards, as if to their maker, neither can reach the title. Hurts starts to wobble, and so grabs on top Diamond. This unbalances Diamond, who in turn grabs hold of Hurts. The both take another step further up. The ladder visibly shaking.
RR: MY GOD THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE - They're BOTH standing at the VERY DAMNED TOP of the ladder!
KK: No - WAIT! THEY'RE GONNA FALL!!
Both men can't help but start to fall, they're only holding on to each other by this point, Just as they fall though, Hurts holds out a hand and manages to grab onto the ring by which the belt is attached. Hurts starts swinging, as Diamond is still holding onto him, the momentum causing the movement. Suddenly a huge *CRACK* is heard, and the two men, the title, and the chain holding it all fall to the floor! The crowd start yet another HOLY SHIT chant!
TB: MY GOD - KEVIN HURTS DID IT!!!
KK: HURTS IS MY FUCKING HERO!!!!
RR: What A God Damned match! I've never in my entire LIFE seen a ladder match won with the belt chain snapping - but dammit that was a TERRIFIC match!
TB: And do you know WHAT folks?! The main event is still to come!!!
TB: It’s been time since I’ve called one of these, and what a main event to come back to.
RR:: Well we are getting ready to see one of the most violent matches here in the HWA.
FixXxer By Metallica hits and the crowd erupts in cheers and out comes “The Sensation” Danny Starr. The crowd is going absolutely crazy as he comes out the curtains. He walks to the ring looking one hundred percent focused Coming out of the other side of the arena walking across the stage that gets to the ring. He gets to the ropes wondering how to enter the enter the ring. He then jumps over and lands on the glass mat.
KK: Danny wasn’t sure how to get in the ring there.
RR: I have no idea what these men are thinking
TB: All the dangers in this match are ridiculous
“Not Listening” by Papa Roach interrupts Danny’s music and the crowd from the loudest cheers goes to boos. Even though you can hear some cheers the HWA World Champion makes his way down to the ring. Conner stands at the top of the top of the ramp. He does not have his title of the his shoulder. He walks down to the ring and leaps over the top rope. He stomps on the glass mat below him.
TB: I can truly say the feeling in this arena is electric.
The two men approach mid ring and start the normal pre match trash talk.
KK: Conner has played some sick mind games during the past two weeks.
RR: Look who he hangs out with?
KK: I should of seen it coming. TB: Don’t discredit Conner for his sick underhanded mind games, he is the HWA World Heavyweight Champion.
Danny then slaps Conner across the face, Conner puts his hand on his cheek and stretches out his jaw. He then fires back and slaps Danny across the face. The two then go into a collar and elbow tie up.
TB: Both men with disrespectful slaps across the face.
KK: They’re very evenly matched up.
RR: it’s the old two men, one world title sort of thing.
Starr locks in a head lock and goes for a take over and Conner slams on the glass mat. He then gets Starr in a head scissors but Starr gets out and the two look at each other.
TB: They are move for move so far
They are in another collar and elbow tie up but Conner kicks Starr is the gut and punches him in the face. He then whips Starr into the barbed wire but he stops in front of it and turns around and stares at Conner. Conner just returns with a smile.
RR: Starr was inches away from hitting that barbed wire.
Conner then charges at Danny but Danny ducks and tosses him over but Conner grabs the top rope and lands on the apron. Starr goats because he thinks Conner has landed in the tacs, but he turns around and Conner hit’s a flying close line, trying to land the best he can on the hard mat.
RR: Looks like Conner snagged some of his barbed wire trying to do that.
Conner goes over to Starr and picks him up and hit’s a suplex on the hard mat below.
TB: What a hard move on the glass mat. You don’t learn to fall like that.
Conner puts the boots to Starr and gloats to the fans giving Starr the opportunity to get up. He then charges at Conner with a close line, then another, then another. Conner gets up woozy and turns around right into a SPINEBUSTER on glass! Starr goes for the pin, but there’s no referee because the only way to win is to get the title.
KK: I do believe Starr calls that the Pride Of Hartford.
TB: Look at the pain on Conner’s face.
Danny goes to the corner grabs and gets up on the top rope holding the support beam. He leaps up and grabs the Celtic Cross wires and uses the hand over hand maneuver getting closer the center. His feet dangling below him. Conner sees this and gets up and grabs Starr’s ankle.
RR: Danny got caught!
KK: Conner trying to bring him down!
TB: Starr is refusing to go though.
Conner then does a big hank and Starr falls and lands on his feet he holds his legs but without hesitation Conner hit’s a super kick to the face it echoes throughout the arena and the crowd goes “Ohhh”
KK: WHAT A SUPERKICK!
TB: Conner connected with a vicious super kick!
RR: I’ve seen plenty of super kicks in my time, and that has to be the best I’ve seen.
A replay is shown. Conner gets up and grabs Starr. Starr hits his hands away and throws a right hand, but Conner ducks and Conner hit’s a German suplex, Starr lands on the glass mat, head and neck first and is folded over landing on his stomach.
RR: What a German suplex.
Conner gets up and goes to the corner and gets up top and is on the Celtic Cross. Conner uses the hand over hand technique moving towards the center. But Starr gets up. He tries to grab the feet of Conner but Conner pulls his feet up. Starr jumps but still can’t reach him. Conner then loses his grip with one hand and hangs their. His feet now down are grab by Starr, but Conner lets go and hit’s a hurricarana on Danny Starr sending him millimeters away from the barbed wire.
TB: HURRICARANA!!!!
RR: Did you see how close Starr was to hitting the barbed wire?
KK: The world title is so important to these man.
Starr is up and so is Conner. Conner charges at Starr but Starr side steps and his a right hand to the gut. He then picks him up and drops him across the top rope throat first and close lines him over the top having him land on the ramp way that connects to the ring.
TB: Starr coming out with fire here.
Danny follows Conner out and they are battling up towards the main stage. Starr then kicks Conner in the gut halfway up the stage and lifts him up in a vertical suplex, but hits Obliteration!
KK: OBLITERATION ON THE RAMP!
RR: Conner neck might be broken.
TB: Both men taking it out on each other
Danny begins to make his way to the ring. Conner begins to roll. Conner is crawling and Starr gets to the ring. Starr turns around and sees Conner. He walks towards him and Conner is on his knees. He then hit’s a low blow on Starr, gets up and spikes him down with a DDT.
RR: Low bow, then a DDT!
TB: Conner trying to get control of the match back.
Conner picks up Starr but Starr pushes him in the top rope then comes back and has him on his shoulders for an electric chair drop but Conner rakes his eyes and slides down his and hit’s a hard reverse DDT. Conner jumps over Starr and lays him horizontal about three feet away from the ropes.
TB: What is Conner planning on doing?
KK: He’s planning on putting Starr away.
Conner then gets in the ring runs to the other side, but stops turns around and runs towards Starr and hit’s a flip dive landing on Starr collapsing the stage as they fall through, the crowd chants holy shit!!
TB: OH MY FREAKIN’ GOD!
RR: That was just insane! THE STAGE BROKE!
KK: Both men just went through the stage.
A replay is shown and there is still no movement.
KK: Just a back and forth match up and neither man bending or breaking.
TB: I think I see movement in the hole!
RR: Umm?
Conner is coming out the hole and slides underneath the bottom the barbed wire rope. Shortly after Starr does the same thing. Conner gets up and Starr does as well, Conner runs at Starr but Starr hit’s a drop toe hold INTO THE BARBED WIRE! The crowd chants HOLY SHIT.
TB: CONNER WENT FACE AND CHEST FIRST IN THE BARBED WIRE!
KK: Look how quickly once he hit it he got out of there.
Conner is walking around the ring in pain and Danny looks at him then throws him into the barbed wire almost to the outside. Conner hits and the barbed wire is sticking in his skin and is bleeding out of his back.
RR: Oh my…
KK: I’m not sure how to call this.
TB: He just threw another human being into barbed WIRE!
Starr sees Conner riving in pain and kicks him in his head. He picks up Conner and tells the crowd one more time. And he delivers but Conner grabs the top rope first and blocks it. Starr runs at Conner and hit’s a dropkick to the knee having Starr fall across the barbed wire.
KK: This is disgusting.
Conner then grabs Starr head and racks it against the barbed wire!
RR: Starr is bleeding horrible because Conner racked his head on the barbed wire.

He’s crawling over and Danny grabs a loose piece of barbed wire and beings to swing it at Conner. Hitting him and having it stick in his skin. Conner hands lefts go but his feet are still tied up there.
TB: Conner dangling by his feet!
RR: Starr was whipping him with that piece of barbed wire.
Starr wraps it around his fist and grabs Conner from the back of the head and lays two right hands in the face of Conner. Conner goes back up there holding on with his hands and feet. Starr then whips him one more time releasing his hands and once against hanging by his feet. Starr then hit’s a dropkicked to Conner’s face and Conner falls stomach first on the glass mat.
TB: A dropkick to the face and Conner falls to the ground.
KK: Both men bleeding profusely.
RR: I don’t know how much long this match can last.
Starr then goes up to the corner gets on the rope and then leaps going head first towards the center of the Celtic Cross. Conner gets up and chases him down crawling towards Starr.
TB: Both men on the Celtic Cross!
KK: They are fifteen feet up ABOVE GLASS!
RR: I don’t have a good feeling about this.
The men’s feet meet. They both try to kick at each other but no kick is hitting but Conner drops his feet gets closer then brings hits feet up and through Starr’s arms The sold out arena is standing on their feet!
TB: What is Conner thinking?
RR: I, I might know.
KK: You mean?
Conner then kicks his heels together with Starr’s face in the middle. Conner then drops and brings Starr’s with him rotating and hitting the CONNER CLASH ON THE GLASS MAT! The crowd chants Holy Shit.
TB: Conner Clash from fifteen feet high in the air!
KK: On TO GLASS NON THE LESS.
Neither man moves right away. Conner gets up but stumbles and lands in barbed wire and the bottom rope snaps, Conner gets out of it quickly. Starr rolls over bleeding.
RR: Both men in the chrism mask.
Conner gets up and is leaning against the one normal rope. Starr is up on his hands and knees. Conner walks towards Starr and he punches in the gut. Starr then explodes with rights and lefts and gets up and kicks Conner right between the legs.
TB: Low blow my Danny Starr, where is he getting this?
RR: I’d say adrenaline but after what they have been through, I don’t know what it is.
Conner is keeled over and Danny lifts him up as in a Powerbomb possession. He then walks slowly towards the ropes.
KK: OH NO!
The crowd on their feet once again
TB: Where is this strength coming from!
Danny Starr then launches Conner off his shoulders landing in the millions of thumb tacs around the ring! The crowd chants holy shit as Conner twitches laying in the thumb tacs.
TB: POWERBOMB INTO THE HUNDRED OF THOUSANDS OF THUMB TACS!!
RR: I think we might just have a new champion.
KK: How do you remain so cool during this?
RR: I can’t believe that these men are doing this.
KK: THIS IS REAL RON!
Starr goes over to the corner, and Conner rolls into the ring trying to get the tacs out his body. He’s laying in the ring looking up in pain and Starr sees him and hits an elbow drop onto Conner.. Both men are laying their lifeless, but not for long as Starr gets up. He picks up Conner by the hair and mouths the words yells “Fuck YOU” and hits Obliteration on the glass mat! Conner goes limp and Starr looks up at the gold
TB: People at home, you have no idea what these men are putting themselves through.
Starr looks at the gold then back down at Conner, then back to the gold. Starr looks down at Conner will blooding flowing down his face. He leans over towards Conner but Conner with tacs out his back in his hand punches Danny and Danny goes down holding his head. Conner gets up and locks in the CAREER KILLER!
KK: CAREER KILLER!! Danny is screaming in pain!
RR: This hold really hurts and I don’t know how long Danny can hold on.
TB: It doesn’t matter if he raps, he taps the belt is still hanging above the ring.
After about a minute and a half of being in the hold, he grabs Conner ankles and gets him off balance and he gets out. Starr then reverses it into the Halls Of Sensation!
TB: HALLS OF SENSATION!
KK: I think Conner is bleeding out of every part of his body.
RR: He was just a human pin cushion a few minutes ago.
Conner screaming in pain does what Starr did to him knocking him off balance. Both men lay face down the on the mat. Starr gets up as well as Conner. They go to opposite corners. They climb up top and both get on the Celtic Cross They crawl to each other and towards the title.
TB: Both men going to end up meeting at the middle.
KK: Look, blood is dripping of their bodies and landing on the mat.
They are meeting at the center but neither man is grabbing for the belt but hitting each other with their feet and hands. Conner then starts to swing then leaps towards Starr and takes him down with THE SOUL SEARCHER from fifteen feet in the air, they land on the mat hard and it appears to be cracked. The crowd chants holy shit.
RR: I totally agree with the crowd here, what are they going to do next?
KK I don’t think they are going to do much.
TB: SOUL SEARCHER FROM 15 FEET HIGH ON A GLASS MAT that CRACKED! I mean it hurts bad enough just on the standard canvas.
Conner is the first to get up, but it wasn’t to quickly. Starr is laying on his back down in the middle of the ring. Conner goes the corner and is up on the top rope. He looks up at the gold, but then look sat Starr. Leaning against the support beam he shakes his head and leaps of with LEAP OF FAITH connecting right on Danny Starr.
TB: LEAP OF FAITH!
KK: Both men are down and the crowd is standing up.
RR: I really don’t think they’ve sat down since the beginning of this match.
An over head camera view sees both men laying on their back and a large crack in the middle of the ring. Movement from Conner shows a sign of life, then movement from Danny. Conner on his back on the mat lifts up his hand reaching for the title. Conner gets up using the rope. Starr gets up and charges at Conner and hit’s a spear busting through the barbed wire and both men fall in the tacs the crowd begins to chant “THIS IS AWESOME”
TB: JESUS CHRIST THEY’RE DEAD!
KK: Barbed wrier sticking in Conner’s back and then landing in thumb tacs.
RR: I cant even imagine that kind of pain.
TB: Can someone get these men in the ring?
Starr is the first one back in the ring and he goes towards the far corner to slowly gets up to the top turnbuckle. Conner gets back in the ring, with thumb tacs sticking out of their body they are both on the top turnbuckle. They are both climbing. Conner hand over hand, Starr shimmying head first towards the title. They move their and meet in the middle.
TB: They are in the middle of the, the belt is right there!
KK: Whoever grabs it and comes down with it wins!
They both do a tug of war. Conner kicks Starr in the head as he dangles by his feet. But shimmies closer to the cross. Conner pushes up on the cross and the belt falls to the canvas.
RR: THEY BELT FELL TO THE MAT!
TB: Whomever gets it wins!
KK: But I don’t think they care.

TB: THEY JUST BROKE THE MAT!
KK: BOTH MEN AND THE TITLE ARE THERE.
TB: A ConnerDriver like maneuver from fifteen feet high through the mat.
RR: Can we check to see if they are alive?
An over head view sees both men lying there motionless as glass matt has a large gapping whole in it. The fans are silent.
TB: Fans I’m not a hundred percent sure we’re going to have a winner here.
KK: Whomever gets out of the hole first with the title will win!
RR: If any of them can!
An eerie silence hushes the crowd, nobody dares to make a sound. Every ear listening for smashing glass, or the grunting of someone moving. A couple of paramedics enter the area, summoned by the referee.
RR: My God guys, you don't think?
TB: They can't be....
KK: Are they Dead?
The paramedics look over the side of the glass hole. One of them turns quickly, his face green. He vomits by the side of the ring.
KK: Good Lord, what did he see?
TB: Even Sett has come out now.
RR: Well, as much as he hates the NGW, he is responsible for all of the HWA's athletes.
Suddenly a hand appears.
TB: SOMEBODY IS COMING OUT!
Another hand appears.
KK: YES IT'S CONNER!
TB: NO WAIT, IT'S STARR!
RR: Guys, wait, it's BOTH OF THEM!
Both Conner AND Starr both have a hand on the title. They manag to climb out, neither relinquishing a hand on the title. Conner has a huge gash down his face, blood literally pouring from his head. Starr on the other hand has a large piece of glass sticking out of his left arm. Both men collapse at ringside as Wallace Cunningham calls for the bell.
TB: It's a draw!
KK: Not a satisfactory decision in my view, but oh my GOD what a match!
RR: There simply HAS to be a rematch between these two men.
Wait, Sett is grabbing the mike.
Sett: Ladies and Gentlemen, we have just witnessed what could quite possibly be THE single greatest match in HWA history. Ever.
The crowd all stand unanimously and cheer.
Sett: But it hasn't resolved a damned thing. So here's what we're going to do. On Survival this coming sunday, we're going to have a match. Not just Any match, but a rematch, between Kevin Conner and Danny Starr!
The crowd pops huge at this announcement.
Sett: And this match? Will it have a huge gimmick like this one? No. It's going to be a no excuses, traditional - WRESTLING match. Something which is by it's very nature a rarity in this federation. We're going to see a pure wrestling match. Now, there will be NO involvement by the NGW - God dammit i'm tired of seeing their sorry assess running down to help. In fact, if ANY member of the NGW - aside from Conner - shows their face in that match - they are FIRED there and then. I will be the special ringside enforcer for the match. In addition, the title CAN and WILL change hands on a disqualification. Yes, this is a no DQ fed, but this is a PURE wrestling match. No cheating will be tolerated. Oh and one other thing? There will be a special referee for the match - his name is THE CHOSEN ONE!!!! But for now ladies and gentlemen - lets hear it for Danny Starr and Kevin Conner!!
The fans cheers as one for both men, regardless of Conner's NGW status. They have just witnessed a once in a life time match. Conner and Starr both manage to get to their feet, either side of the ring. Both raise their arms, blood still running freely down their bodies. Sett takes the title from the ring and carries it back up the ramp way as the show goes off the air - the crowd still cheering and chanting the names of Danny Starr and Kevin Conner.
