HWA Breakdown

January 18th 2004

The second PPV presented by the Hardcore Wrestling Alliance 3000 is only mere days away. The roster has swelled considerably since ReBirth II, and the lines are starting to be drawn. This is a PPV that will see careers end, and careers launched into the stratosphere. Be sure to be ready, otherwise get ready to BreakDown!

HWA World Heavyweight Championship
Triple Threat, Triple Cage
Blue Thunder(c) v Breeze v Draven Masters

Blue Thunder won the World Title from Kevin Conner at ReBirth II, and in doing so acheived an ambition which had been left with him since he co-founded the HWA with Neil back in 2000. Now, in the most challenging defense of his belt so far, he has to defend against not just one, but two very worthy opponents. Breeze and Draven Masters have very little history with each other at all, In fact Draven Masters has until now has only competed in 4 professional wrestling matches. Both Breeze and Masters can equally claim to be the number one contender to Blue Thunder's HWA Title after jointly winning a Battle Royal a few weeks back. They were supposed to fight it out in a one on one match to see who was to go forward to challenge for the belt, but after a screwy ending to their match which saw HWA President David Jackson interfere once more, both men were sent forward to compete in this triple threat match for the World Title.

Battle to become HWA's Vice President
The eXiled w/Sett v Draven Masters w/Judge

Since Judge was named as commisioner by Grimjack, he has become a thorn in the side of HWA President David Jackson. The same can definitely be said of Sett, who made his return recently, announcing that since he was never sacked as president of the HWA from 6 months ago, he, technically, was also able to call the shots. Upset about this David Jackson went back to Neil and requested that at least one of Judge and Sett had to go. In the interest of fairness, Neil suggested tht Judge and Sett had a match, with the winner becoming the Vice President of the HWA. Jackson presented the idea to the two of them and they agreed, but said that it wouldn't actually be them fighting. Instead, Judge went out and brought in Draven Masters, and Sett bought The eXiled. The winning wrestler wins the Vice Presidency for their 'Manager'.

HWA International Title
Jason Craven(c) v Syren

Jason Craven has held the International Title since December 14th, turning back challenger after challenger. This time though, things could be different. Syren is not your average HWA wrestler. For a start, she's a woman, and an extremely attractive one at that! Can Craven resist her obvious feminine charm and treat her like he has treated every other challenger he has faced so far? Another factor which has to be taken into account is form, and form would definitely favour Syren in this match...

Maxemum Pain Match
Tristan Wolfe + Syren v Dylan Wolfe + Ryan Maxem

Until this week on Survival, the partners (in and out of the ring) Tristan and Syren were the Tag Team Champions. HWA President David Jackson though has taken it upon himself to make Tristan wolfe's a living hell. It has to be said though that both sides have given and taken a bit! On survival, Jackson had the two of them beaten to a bloody pulp by his gang, which included Ryan Maxem and Dylan Wolfe. Since coming into the HWA, Dylan Wolfe has kept his intentions to rid the federation of his name-sake Tristan Wolfe no secret. Ryan Maxem, Dylan Wolfe's good friend, has been enlisted on this crusade and the former HWA champion has certainly relished the role.

Kevin Conner v Seth Raines

No real history between these two, except it should be one hell of a match. Conner is a former HWA champion who is slightly out of favour with the management currently after several sub standard recent performances, and Seth Raines is a HWA rookie with an incredibly bright future ahead of him. Current form would suggest that Seth Raines could get the upset win here, but Kevin Conner got the better of Raines on Sunday Night survival, severly damaging Raines's shoulder. Will this be a factor at Breakdown? Will Conner's grizzled veteran experience be enough to dim the light which represents Raines's future?

Dan Sawyer v Danny Starr

Dan Sawyer used to idolise Danny Starr. Clearly, Starr was a mentor to Sawyer and Sawyer began to act more and more like Starr as times went by. Eventually, Danny Starr left the HWA, but left behind Sawyer, his protege? Maybe. Sawyer became so obsessed with Starr that eventually he caught him and held him hostage. Nothing more was thought about this for a few weeks, until Danny Starr turned up in the HWA and started making Dan Sawyer's life hell. At BreakDown we will see a Teacher v Student match. Will Sawyer be able to prove he is the better man? Or will Starr's use of trickery and treachery be enough to finally shut up Dan Sawyer.... for good.

X-Treme Title
Alex Mysterio(c) v St Patrick v Evan Blane

These three men have been challenging for the X-Treme Title recently, and on the most recent Survival, a match between Sawyer and Patrick, which also saw Mysterio and Blane get involved, was ruined when Danny Starr came in and destroyed everybody in the match. This time, we get to settle things once and for all and see who the REAL X-Treme Champion is.
