History

Michael Diamond is a third generation blue blood, born into high society as a result of hard work and good stock tips from both his father and grandfather. While living in Hartford, Connecticut… and at the mere age of eight… Michael’s carefree life style was turned upside down when a robbery gone awry resulted in the tragic death of his parents. Michael, himself, sustained a bullet wound to the shoulder – a wound that has, to this day, never fully healed. From there, Michael lived in his parent’s mansion with Martin Calhoun – a butler and loyal friend to the Diamond ancestors. A shell of a person, Michael went about life without any goal or care in the world. It wasn’t until around seven years later, now fifteen years old, when Michael seemed to snap back to reality. While attending a private academy for fellow blue bloods, a scuffle broke out between a brother sticking up for his sister and the bullies harassing her. Heavily outnumbered, Michael watched in awe as the brother resisted with every fiber of his being. Reminded of the fight and desire he once had, Michael threw himself into the fray – coming to the aid of Danny and Cassandra Starr. From that day forward, the three friends were nearly inseparable.

Like so many things in Michael Diamond’s life, not everything is always what it seems. Eighteen years old and on the verge of graduation, Michael discovered a dark secret about the Starr family. With the sudden realization that the man of the house physically abused his children – and had done so for years now – Michael lost all sense of reason. The anger and hatred Michael felt for his parent’s murderers was unleashed on Danny and Cassandra’s father, but to little effect. The aftermath resulted in Michael being taken to the hospital, while Danny and Cassandra’s father spent the night in jail. Already, the corporate wheels were spinning, as their father would soon be set free on “self-defense” charges. But before the trail could even take place, Danny’s father met an untimely demise – freeing the Starr children from their malicious father. But Danny’s overzealous reaction to his father’s death earned him a trip to the Hartford Insane Asylum while Michael was court ordered – per request of Danny and Cassandra’s mother – to have no contact with the Starr children. It appeared that the inseparable had just been separated.

Nearly a year later, Michael received a letter from Danny stating how he was worried about his sister and how he requested Michael look after Cassandra. Defying the court order, Michael discovered Cassandra to be in a dark place – a place void of emotion and constant thoughts of suicide. With his aid, Michael brought her back to a state of normalcy as their friendship soon matured into a relationship. Eventually Cassandra’s mother discovered of her daughter’s secret affairs as she made arrangements for Cassandra to attend college over-seas. Learning of this devious plot, Michael made one last ditch effort to see Cassandra before her mother had her flown half-way across the world but – with the court order still under affect – never made it anywhere near the flight pad. The love of his life was gone, never knowing just how important she was to Michael.

Years later, following his release from the Asylum, Danny sought out his old friend as he found Michael a broken person once again. The loss of Cassandra had left a devastating effect on Michael and, like the loss of his parents, had made him a shell of a man. Danny helped his friend get back on his feet again, teaching him about an addictive sport he had picked up on while instituted in the “nut house”. With both men searching for their purpose in this life, the art of wrestling and sports entertainment seemed like a long shot. But in the end, the pent-up aggression and anger the two had suppressed for so many years was finally allowed to come to the surface as they unleashed their fury on their opponents. Before long, Michael Diamond and Danny Starr were signed to the HWA – where the two were reunited with Cassandra. Thus began the era of the Foundation of Sensation.

One of the best stables to ever grace the HWA, the FoS consisted of noble athletes – wrestlers who had earned the respect of their peers and who had become honorable in the sports entertainment industry. Controversy constantly flowed around its members, namely because of Danny Starr – the leader of the Foundation. As hated as the FoS was, there’s no denying how successful it had been during its tenure. Case in point, it took only Michael Diamond and Danny Starr less then a month to capture the Tag Team Titles. After their title reign, Danny focused on the World Championship while Michael set his sights on the International Championship. Cassandra, on the other hand, appeared to be getting lost in the limelight – her actions proving that her mind was elsewhere. What Danny and Michael didn’t know was that Cassandra was torn between wrestling and her son – a son which she would later claim to be the heir to Michael Diamond’s dynasty.

After years of dominating the HWA with Danny and Cassandra, Michael suddenly found himself alone for the first time. Both the Starr children had suddenly and abruptly disappeared, leaving behind nothing but more questions. As Michael began his own conquest for the one title had eluded him all these years – the World Championship – he found allies in rare individuals, teaming with “The Suicidal Child” Fudge and forming The Archangels, a team that won the award for Best Tag Team of 2004 with their strong bond of friendship and high-risk, exciting top-rope antics. Another ally included Ryan “Sett” Evans, a man that the FoS and Michael had feuded with for years. And, last but not least, Ryan Maxem – a man who had shot his way to the top of the HWA ladder faster then any before him. It seemed that Michael was constantly surrounded by greatness, something that paved the way for his record-setting World title reign.

Standing atop the HWA mountain for such a long time began to take its toll on Michael, mentally and physically. During a routine title defense, Michael suffered a vile chair shot to the cranium – one that was so devastating that it left the World Champion with temporary memory loss. But the injury appeared to be a blessing in disguise for when his memory came back to him, he recovered a month of his life that had been erased from his mind – a month that consisted of secret training within a sacred temple devoted to a group known as the Protectors. Determined to decipher this missing month of his life, Michael dwelled deeper into the origin of the Protectors, discovering them to be a group of ninja’s destined to protect scrolls sacred to their order. As Michael uncovered more and more about this group and their secret war, he began to realize that his skills inside the ring were getting better – a result of his mind recovering the training he had learned while in the temple of the Protectors.

Before Michael could uncover more about his mysterious past, he was called upon by Ryan “Sett” Evans to aid him in a vengeful warfare with a group known as the Black Skulls – a gang of miscreants that resided in Ryan’s home state of Texas. Normally Michael wouldn’t have associated himself with a routine street gang but, lately, the Skulls operations had increased – their activities beginning to become more terrorist then thug. Aided by Chris “Morgoth” Fang (another HWA superstar familiar with the Black Skulls), the three were able to destroy the Black Skulls base of operations – crippling the crime syndicate for, at least, a couple years. But it was the discovery of human genetic mutations that surprised the three individuals, revealing a side of the Black Skulls they didn’t know existed. Unleashing these “Ghosts” on their creators, Michael and Sett were able to stage a daring escape – one that, ultimately, cost Morgoth his life. Or so they had thought.

Months later, Morgoth returned to the HWA – his sights set on Michael Diamond and his HWA World Championship. Though the victor of the match, Morgoth had the last laugh, leaving Michael lying – a victim of a broken neck. The injury would bring an end to Michael’s five-month long title reign and sideline “Your Hero” for almost a year. During this hiatus from the HWA, Michael frantically searched for any answers about the Protectors and the Shadow War but his search revealed frustrating results. On the verge of giving up all hope, Michael returned home to find his butler and good friend, Martin Calhoun, dying. A victim of a gunshot wound, Michael stayed with his foster father until the end – Martin revealing to Michael that these memories he was beginning to have where, indeed, real. With his dying breath, Martin requested Michael look over his family in England. And so, with Martin’s body buried next to Michael’s parents, “Your Hero” set out for the Motherland.

His short visit to England left Michael with more questions as he found Martin’s brother, Jonathon, already murdered and Martin’s daughter, Rose, on the run from her uncle’s killer. Saving Rose from a similar fate, Michael brought her back with him to the states where he could keep her protected. As a result of the recent murders of the Calhoun brothers, Michael decided to put the Protectors mystery on hold while he investigated the more recent events. Comparing the crime scene photos, Michael deducted that the same person or persons killed both Martin and Jonathon Calhoun. Determined to avenge the death of Rose’s father and uncle, Michael returned to the crime scene in England – discovering some of Jonathon’s old journals. Reading over them, Michael suddenly became aware that everything was connected. Before he could decipher what that truly meant, he was attacked from behind and knocked unconscious. When he awoke, he found the place lit ablaze as Michael nearly escaped with his life. Once again, Michael was left with no answers, only questions.

The years of wrestling for the HWA and his life as a vigilante began to catch up to “Your Hero” as, after an epic showdown with long-time friend Danny Starr, Michael collapsed in a heap. With his internal organs failing him, Michael spent the remainder of his days in a hospital bed, Rose by his side. With so much still left to do in his life, Michael transcended into the light – reborn again as the Hero he was meant to be.

Months later, "Your Hero" defied all the odds yet again as it seemed not even death could tame him. Having made a miraculous and full recovery, the media covered the story of Diamond's failing health as a hoax - one that was created to bring more attention to the HWA's limelight. But Michael's injuries were as serious as originally reported and the only reason he had survived was because the return of the "Ghosts", now assuming the name of "Nomalies". Years had past since his last encounter with these genetically enhanced creatures and, for all intents and purposes, Diamond had assumed they had all perished in the destruction of the Black Skull base. Their healer, Adara, brought Michael back from the brink of death in hopes that he could aid them once again as a new enemy has revealed himself - hoping to exploit the "Nomalies" to do his evil bidding. However, not all is as it seems as the first of his kind - aptly named "The Father" - seems to have a hidden agenda, one that involves Diamond's downfall. As Michael prepares to do battle with a secret foe, so too does he prepare himself to enter into a new industry of sports entertainment as he looks to take his Hall-of-Fame career even further, this time gracing the halls of the HCW with his presence.

Profile

As one of the most charismatic individuals to grace the ring of the HWA, Michael Diamond is one of the most popular, and successful, superstars in its history. Regardless of alignment, fans can’t help but cheer for “Your Hero”. A fierce competitor, Michael likes to wear his opponents down with his precision technical skills and flawless aerial antics. His years in the Hardcore Wrestling Alliance have taught Michael to include weapons and other foreign objects into his arsenal, though he tends to only prefer steel chairs and steel ladders and – of course – his patented diamond knuckles. As a face, Michael will do everything in his power to give the fans a good show while, also, beating his opponent within the standard limitations. As a heel, Diamond is relentless in his assault on his victim and will often resort to any type of unfair advantage he can get.

Appearance

Michael Diamond has one of the best bodies in the business, a result of vigorous training over the years. Though not a large athlete by any means, Michael possesses an innate strength that comes from within – a result of his iron will to never quit. Also, Diamond’s brief training at the Temple of the Protectors and his tutelage under “The Suicidal Chyld” Fudge has granted him cat-like reflexes and agility. On top of that, Michael’s stamina is second-to-none, just ask the ladies. He is always clean-shaven and his short brown hair is spiked down. As a millionaire, Michael wears only the finest assortment of clothes that money can buy.

Ring Attire

Michael Diamond wears a pair of steel blue (also comes in steel black) tights, loose and flexible enough to allow him to perform his highflying maneuvers without any hassle. On the outside of each pant leg is an image of a crystal diamond, shimmering and glistening with a silver glow. His accessories include just a simple pair of black boots, black elbow pads, and black wristbands. Diamond always wrestles without a shirt on so as to showcase his incredible physique.

Ring Entrance

“Attack" by 30 Seconds to Mars hits over the loud speakers as the fans all stand in anticipation. The lights dim as a blue florescent glow showers over the audience. Michael Diamond emerges from behind the black curtain, his hair, face, and upper body glistening with water and sweat. “Your Hero” is met with a thundering ovation as he swaggers down the ramp, the million-dollar smile on his face. Halfway down, Michael drops down into a crouch and flexes his muscles as a series of silver and gold fireworks and pyros erupt from behind him. Continuing on with his entrance, Michael slaps hands with a few of the fans at ringside before rolling into the ring. Pushing his way up to his feet, Michael goes over to a nearby pair of ropes and pulls himself up onto them, soaking in the moment. Having given the fans their photo op, Michael drops off the ropes and paces around the ring, ready for action.

Modeled After...

Though truly a "one of a kind" character, Michael's wrestling attributes, style, and technique are losely based off wrestlers in the "real world". Diamond encorporates the "never-say-die" attitude of Matt Hardy, while fully utilizing the "awe-inspiring, suicidal aerial antics" of the younger Hardy silbing, Jeff. Diamond's flawless mat-wrestling and submission skills are equivalent to those of a Kurt Angle's or Chris Benoit's. As for in-ring personality, Diamond is as charming and charismatic as Randy Orton, with a dark vengful side worthy of rivaling "The Legend Killer's".
